Great Book Tracking App
It’s great for keeping track of reading stats, a list of all books I want to read, am currently reading and have finished reading. The explore sections makes it very easy to search for books I’m interested in and easily add them to my library list. Also love that I can add quotes and notes for each book.
The layout of the app is simplistic which was also what I was looking for. Other apps seemed to over complicate everything and looked cluttered.
Lastly, the developer of this app has been brilliant. I had a couple of questions after downloading it and was able to contact them via the app. They responded to all my emails very quickly and was very helpful.
Nice little app...!
Great app for keeping track of books you’ve read and displaying them in bookshelf-type format. But since the latest update the app keeps crashing when I click Profile - hope the developer is able to see this as I’m sure it’s just a bug. Otherwise great app 👍
Response from developer
Hi there! Glad to hear you're enjoying the app :) I'm excited to let you know that I've added reverse chronological sorting in version 2.0 of Summarize, so if you update your app now you'll see that and much more :) Edit 31/12: Would you shoot me an email at alexandergerrese@gmail.com so I can review your syncing problem?
Love this App so much!!
The App I’ve been waiting for
Response from developer
Thank you Rachel, I'm glad you're enjoying the app! Hearing feedback like this from users is exactly what keeps me motivated 🙌
Seems good but the list of suggested novels is disappointing
Great app, new version fixes are perfect
Helps me remember what I read
Great Way to Summarize Key Takeaways
Love the sync!
Is a desktop site coming soon by chance? It would make typing a lot easier!
Looks pretty nice to me

Thank you! Your rating indicates that there are still some areas of improvement though, would you mind emailing me at alexandergerrese@gmail.com to discuss how I can make the app experience better for you?
Cool little app!
I originally rated the app 3 stars because of some usability issues. The developer responded quickly, and fixed all of them. The app is now much more enjoyable to use. 👍
One enhancement that I would find helpful involves what I imagine is a bit of an edge case. I'm currently reading a book that was self-published. As such, the app can't find a book cover for the thumbnail image. Currently in my “Library,” that book is represented by a blank book cover with the words “No image.” That's fine as far as it goes. The problem is that I can't tell what the name of the book is! It would be sweet if the name of the book could be used with (or instead of) the thumbnail in cases like this.

(Original review)
I want to like this app, and I wouldn't leave a review if I didn't care. But the app isn't yet ready for regular use.
First, I really appreciate the option of entering the book's title, author, and publisher by simply taking a photo of the bar code. Two thumbs up there!
Where I ran into difficulty was with the interface.
* I couldn't select a finish date without also selecting a start date. That bugged me. I don't particularly care when I started reading a book. It may be nice to have that option — but only as an option. I just want to jot down some key things about a book and get on with my life.
* Even after setting a start and finished date, the status remained set to "Reading List." That wouldn't be so bad except that...
* I am unable to manually change the status from "Reading List" to "Finished." (The button seems to be overlapping the trigger for the "Summary" section.)
* I had trouble setting the star rating accurately. Either the touch area is off a little, or it isn't large enough.
* After entering a summary and some notes and then scrolling back up, the stars in the star rating are half covered by the Summary section. Only by exiting back to the Library and reselecting the book can I see everything properly again.
I would be happy to pay a dollar or two for an app like this. But if it doesn't work without causing frustration, it's not worth using — even if it's free.
