Messages which haven’t been read after 14 days will disappear for the recipient and their swarm. • Both options will be available in 1-1 chats, but only Disappear after Send will be available in Groups. Reviews of Session

  • Rotate phone orientation request

I shouldn’t have to look at images only in portrait view on iPhone 14 Pro or any other model as a matter of fact. and there still seems to be a bug with leaving a community if a mobile and desktop app on Mac and iPhone; the window of the community you attempt to leave just comes back after 5 to 10 seconds if you sync up on a couple mobile devices and the desktop app, both at the current version as of this time of writing

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback! We'll pass on your suggestion about image orientation. For the issue with leaving a community, please contact our support team. Your input helps us improve!
  • Endless “unable to sync” errors

The app is almost unusable now. Constantly having to force quit and relaunch to get messages to show up. Endless “unable to sync” errors on all the messages I try to send.

Audio and video calls don’t connect if one party is using a VPN. Sometimes text messages take 12 hours to arrive. When I try to share a link from another apps “share to session button” it glitches, says something about lack of nodes and the recipient doesn’t receive the link even though it shows sent on my end. Please update so this app can run on an Apple Watch. Please add easy ability for users to create relay nodes using a raspberry pi and a prebuilt ISO image file to burn to an SD card.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback. We're aware of the issues with syncing, calls, and message delays on iOS. Our team is working hard to address these in the next update. Your suggestions for enhancements are noted. Stay tuned for improvements!
  • Great for privacy - when it works

I almost only use this app because of the privacy it offers. Yes, I’d like to be able to edit the user’s name BEFORE they accept the chat so I remember who they are instead of looking like an idiot and asking what their username/profile name was again. Sure there’s the occasional issue where you don’t get notifications that you received a message.

But now?!? The last couple of weeks it’s been barely working. Messages sit in “sending” for up to 15 mins! Before finally going through. And I keep getting syncing, failed to sync messages. I uninstalled the windows app - didn’t change anything. Uninstalled reinstalled the iOS app - thought it worked as all my messages went through - then the hang up started again within the hour. Other users I talk to say they have the same issue. Their messages are stuck in a massive hang before finally going through.

You have a great service offering privacy in a time and world where privacy doesn’t exist anymore. Please fix the issues though.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback. We're aware of the issues you've mentioned and are actively working on improvements. Your patience is appreciated as we strive to enhance the reliability of the Session app.
