2024.2
June 26, 2024
Hey you! You are awesome — thank you so much for checking out my app, I hope you enjoy!
I have added a brand new lock screen widget: now you can quickly and easily access next.calc from the lock screen!
Also this is the first build that supports iOS 17 only and above. So there has been lots of clean up to prepare for the future :)
v2024.1 Release Notes:
Since this app is free, with no ads, and no tracking, I need your help to get the word out and support future development.
I have added three different ways you can help and if you can do any of them that would be amazing!
- I have added a tip jar, so that you can help support me and my family (thank you so much!)
- I have added a way to review the app, in the app (every review helps tremendously!)
- I have added a way to share the app with friends
I have also
- added some on screen tips to help show hidden functionality
- added a new url scheme: “nextcalc://new” to launch the app and start a new calculation
- redesigned and restructured the Settings and About Me screens
- the drawer handle, at the top of the calcuator, is now a lot easier to tap
I don’t have any analytics so please email me with your thoughts, I would love to hear from you!

Thank you all for your continued support and I hope you all enjoy using the app as much I did building it!
This small update
- added keyboard click sounds (similar to the default calculator) as buttons are tapped. These sounds only play if the device is not set to mute.
- added the ability to easily add answers together from the history: when you select an answer, the addition operator is automatically inserted, if applicable.
- reworked the haptic feedback: it is now more inline to how the default keyboard feels on iOS 16 and it now has a success / error haptic feedback based on if the expression was saved successfully or if it was invalid.
- fixed an odd bug where the disclosure indicators on the About App screen were the wrong color on iOS 16.

Thank you all for your continued support and I hope you all enjoy using the app as much I did building it!
This small update
- added the ability to clear the expression automatically when an answer is shown and a number is pressed. This allows you to easily start a new expression from scratch or a new expression based off of the previous answer.
- updated the AppStore screenshots
- fixed a small layout issue on some screen sizes
