“App only deals” impossible to buy, app broken
MTN advertises “app only deals”, however to pay for the deal with a bank card, the “scroll” function has been disabled on the CCV screen. No scroll, no purchase button, no deal.

The latest update broke the app. It freezes on the start-up screen
Can't RICA
Tried on multiple iOS devices, the app doesn't allow for self-RICA. The photos you take (selfie and of your ID) are all stretched and won't allow you past next step. Customer support was unable to help, so, since I'm abroad (and can't visit a store) my phone number will be lost.

The worst app, after every update something els does not work. This is the 3rd time the email my statement does not work in 18 months.

Does this app even work?
I just get a yellow screen with the MTN logo on it when I open the app. Boggles the mind that a company as large as MTN is unable to produce a functioning app.

next time i come to SA i’ll be using Vodacom again. constant spam texts, calls and even system messages are an unbelievable nuisance.
Beware of making credit card payments
Before one could pay your bill by credit card. The process has now changed. Now if you do so MTN stores your credit card details and only in the T&Cs they tell you that you are actually creating a mobile wallet profile MOMO. Cannot pay unless you have a wallet with them.
Literally fine
This app does everything it’s supposed to do, sometimes it’s a bit slow but not really a big deal. If you’re mad cuz you don’t win the free competition every day plz get a grip of yourself
