Unfortunately have to use it as a private cutomer since June 2012. Bank switched to wokism and a terrible AI module, unable to respond with precise answers. Mandated, forced switch to App late Sept. 2024. Worked fine for two (2) weeks. However following Apple software upgrade neither biometric (fingerprint) nor passwort were accepted. Locked out since 17. Oct. 24 and unable to get Support. Send twelve {12} e-mails.
AI accknowledged receipt, but non of the promised replies reached us. Only after costly sending Overseas mail received a call and could
log into acct for twenty-four (24) hours. Locked out anew.

An important feature is missing from the app.
The application has been very well polished recently, BUT it lacks a very important function that is available in other banking applications. This function is located where the amount of money was written off from the account, in case the money was written off from my account illegally or by mistake, there should be such a function (button) to return the money back to my account. In many banking applications this function has existed for a long time.

Does not work without calling customer service
Installed and activated with sms, worked for 5 min then said that it needs to be unlocked by customer service. More than 2 week of waiting, 1 email and 3 times their form filled in with only 1 abysmal reply I finally called. 20 min waiting, then a friendly person telling me to uninstall and reinstall as they need to send the exact minute of installation and the phone model to their IT department to unlock. Ridiculous for an app to need this but if you find yourself in that situation the only way is to call as they also need your account info - and of course you can’t do secured uploads because you’ve been locked out.

Great for euro banking
DKB is an innovative app by German online banking standards. Great for managing your Euros. DKB was also the only bank I could open an account online from abroad (USA) and via video verification. Nonetheless some stuff is cumbersome, like opening an account with your partner. Also, some text is difficult to comprehend and awkwardly written. Needs some clean-up by a German limguist

Versuche per Visa Kaete zu bezahlen und muss Zahlung autorisieren. Die App meldet den Vorgang aber nicht. Ich kann also praktisch meine Kreditkarte nicht nutzen und eine Hilfefunktion gibt es nicht…
This app proves how non-digital Germany is
One star because this app is actually better than many other German online banking apps. But no where near as good as UK or NL or east european online banking apps!
The old DKB app was actually much better!
All I wanted to do was update my password. After I did that, my app was blocked. Apparently a “technische Mitarbeiter” needs to MANUALLY approve my new password!???? And that it takes 3-5 working days!??
So i dont have access to my money nor my online banking for 5 workings days just because DKB seems to refuse to be more digital?
The old DKB app was actually much better!

Das Motto der DKB: wenn Sie sich auf uns verlassen, sind Sie verlassen.
Seit geraumer Zeit bin ich aus der DKB App ausgesperrt, aus Versehen. Aber man arbeitet daran. Das kann vielleicht für 24 h vorkommen. Es kann aber nicht sein, dass man für längere Zeiträume keinen Zugriff hat und zum Beispiel dann auch gewisse Zahlungen nicht taetigen kann.
Und falls Sie sich im Ausland befinden sollten, waehrend Sie Probleme haben, wird es noch duesterer. Mit der Schneckenpost werden Briefe versandt. Innerhalb Deutschland’s darf man schon gern mal 3 Wochen auf eine neue Karte warten.
Geht gar nicht.
Meine Empfehlung: nach zuverlässigen Alternativen suchen.
Zumal es sich auch nicht um ein wirklich kostenfreies Konto handelt. Karten kosten extra. Moechte man typische Kartenleistungen wie z.B. eine Reiseversicherung haben, werden weitere monatliche Gebühren fällig.
Die Digitalisierung hat Banking bei der DKB nicht einfacher sondern komplizierter und Kundenunfreundlicher gemacht.
Zahlreiche Banken weltweit zeigen, dass das anders geht, einfach und unkompliziert alles online.
