Reviews of Hike Asheville

  • Good Potential but Not Worth the Hassle or Cost

I like the concept of a locally curated collection of the best hikes of Asheville. However, this app falls short on many fronts.
The search function is a little buggy. If you clear the current search, it takes you out of the search bar.

Information panels on each hike don’t populate, you need to click links to get information which takes you away from the app to a browser.

Clicking on a trail and then returning to the main screen resets the map, forcing you to zoom in again.

Selection of hikes includes some duplicates and also misses some hikes.

There is no way to filter out completed hikes.

Information provided only identifies length and perceived difficulty, not steepness or elevation gain.

No way to change the sort function. Hikes are automatically sorted mostly alphabetically, but some hikes are out of order.

Waterfall filter is also not comprehensive, misses a number of falls-related hikes built into the app.

Font size is small with no way to increase.

Overall, disappointing and not worth the money spent.
  • not worth it

    and that’s saying a lot
