Better than Gaia

The app is really good, adding waypoints is easy and easy and the map is 3D also.

Downsides are the information isn’t fully there in Canada, or atleast in Alberta. There is tonnes of missing information about trails you can drive on, the map makes it look like there is like 6 trails in the whole province when there’s hundreds. Looks like they are adding more trails so that’s a plus, hopefully in a few years this app will mimic the actual PLUZ maps the government publishes so you’ll have a live digital version

Also the elite membership sounds good however I can’t seem to use any coupon codes that comes with the membership. Most of the partners with OnX doesn’t have any options for Canadians. You have one coupon code which gets 20% off your cart for Warn Winches which sounds amazing! Until you find out warn doesn’t ship to Canada and the suppliers in Canada do not accept the coupon code

Very Understanding and Compassionate Staff

I recently signed up with onX and also applied for the free one week trial. It was during that time that we went through our first hurricane and were flooded with 7’ of water. I somehow remembered to call and cancel my membership as I didn’t know when I’d be able to use it again. I was told that not only would they put my membership on hold until I requested it to be activated but that they wanted to give me two years free!!! I don’t know bout you, but I’m not used to receiving news like that in this day and age! I AM IMPRESSED!
Fast forward through another hurricane, we had our first chance to get way and try the app this week and we’re more than impressed! It was very accurate and helpful since we were in a place we’d never been or even seen on a map before.
Needless to say I’m hooked!

One of the best nav App

I started using onX Offroad almost by chance, but now I can’t do without it. The ease of use, simplicity, and speed with which you can find trails are impressive. I really appreciate the attention to detail, the passion, and the continuous updates the team keeps putting into it
Good job guys

Customer service

Had a very small issue paying from Canada.
I reached out to ONx to help facilitate a discounts offer from them. Discount can’t be applied and then paid on Canadian accounts.
ONx emailed back with a solution that was up and beyond what I was expecting.
Fantastic customer service.

Great app and great customer support

I had some issues with the fact that I accidentally created two two accounts, one on the iPhone and one on my computer. I didn’t realize what I had done and was confused by the problems I was having. One email to the onX folks was all it took to get attention and get it straightened out. There were a few back and forths that ended up with them treating me very well and even sending follow up emails to make sure all was well. Great people to deal with! As far as the app itself, I’m still trying to figure out all of the nuances and particulars but I’m really liking it. I have the Elite version and love all the information it gives you. There’s plenty of resources online both from the OnX folks and the community. Outside of the trails everyone raves about(and rightly so) it’s enjoyable to just use while traveling. Running it on my phone concurrently with a map app Apple CarPlay in the car gives you a great amount of information about the area around you. Or, with a flip of a button on your phone you can have it load up in CarPlay and have it on the “big screen” in the truck. I can’t recommend this app enough.

Very impressed

I have really enjoyed using the app in Canada. All the trails have been true. Just one quirk would be when I download an offline map I can no longer use it in 3D when I am offline. Other apps I have used in the past have allowed me to use 3D when offline.

Great so far. Easy to use and map quality is great. So much detail

Dispersed Camping Must Have

Easily find campsites hidden among private properties.

There is tonnes of missing information about trails you can drive on, the map makes it look like there is like 6 trails in the whole province when there’s hundreds. Hopefully overtime as more people use the app and add waypoints the map will be updated and show the true extent of the trails and not just one section of it.

Long ways to go out canada, support clueless

I wish they would spend some of the advertising money on the system.
Big disconnect between the company and customers. About a year ago they sent me a Canadian webpage and discount's to subscribe. Then told to click the iOS APP link. Then to discover Apple Canada didn’t even have a APP. Contacting support and struggling over a month to get a hold of someone that knew something.
I was told to install the American IOS APP which is basically impossible for a Canadian. Requires wiping your phone and install USA iOS which requires a American address and American bank account.
Now I see they finally have a Canadian app
