  • New version: Virtually ineffective, because of new issues.

I had used the old version; it was ok. I had my boards planned with relative ease. Then I updated my app only to find a completely new app that is ultimately a regression. Very frustrating. I rarely submit reviews. But, when an app is this disfunctional I feel the need to submit my opinion. My issues with this app are consistent with the other commenters: the user interface is cumbersome, inaccurate, slow, hard to save, hard to load the board you previously made, hard to delete pedals/board without accidentally deleting desired pedals/board, hard to center, hard to place pedals exactly where you want them. The only positive thing I can say is that the search function has been optimized. I’m tired, this app wears on me. I think it’s time to take the best of the old version and merge these functions with the optimized functions of the new version. I know it can be done because the developers’ successful vision of a pedalboard planning app is evident in both the old and new app. Keep working the bugs out. It’s worth it.

  • New version 8/24

    Awful
Please go back to the previous version-it just worked and worked well
    Thank you
  • Bring back the old one

The first version was WAY better….this one is annoying
  • Terrible UX

As other reviewers have said, the new UX is really poor and cumbersome compared to the simpler controls in v1. The joystick used to move the display is slow and very unresponsive. Same for the zoom controls. The app is also buggy: the screen “vibrates” after random interactions and it is 50/50 whether selecting pedals will make them appear on the board. So disappointing.

  • This review is for ver 2.0

This update should be recalled. Not only did I lose my previously saved projects, it is now nearly impossible to create and save a board on the iPhone version.
    Pedals jump around.
The board does not stay centered.
Zoom functions have jumped back to the days of Flash.
I could go on, but anyone who has tried this version knows that it’s a failure.
Back to the Drawing Board- pun intended.

  • Lost all my boards

I’ve used this app for forever and I had a bunch of saved boards, some I was still actively working on. I downloaded the new update and all of them are gone. Terrible…

    Developer Response

Hi! We are so sorry for the inconvenience! We would've loved to keep everyone's saved boards, but unfortunately that wasn't possible with this update. This new update will last for many many years to come, so feel free to rebuild your boards in confidence. Thanks!
  • This new version is really hard to use

The old version wasn’t the pinnacle of UX, but it worked well enough. The new app does improve on search and it lets you place pedals at an angle which might be helpful for some people.

The new app has one of the worst UIs I’ve used in a modern app. Every time I place a pedal, I have to painstakingly center the pedalboard. I have to zoom and pan using on-screen buttons instead of the using the standard pinch and zoom gestures that every single other app uses on iPhone. It’s now a very frustrating user experience and a huge step down from the already-mediocre but usable app we had before.

  • Over-engineered to obsolescence

Version 1 of the pedal train planner had room for improvement but it was lightweight and was easy to use and had a fantastic catalogue of pedals that helped not only align your current board, but plan future boards and what pedals would fit with that.

This change has added some great features that I would have liked to see in the original, but this version has become an unmanageable mess.

Not to mention, all previous boards and favourite pedals are now gone. I’d have given two stars for the attempt, but getting rid of the saved boards from being a frequent user is a 1 star. This should have been launched as a new app, not a major upgrade.

  • Version 2.0 wiped my saved boards >:(

Had a bunch of favourited pedals and board setups which have been wiped without warning in your 2.0 update.

Simply carrying over these saved files would have just been too easy and convenient for people.
  • Better than before

Now a lot more customisable. Takes a bit of playing to get used to it. Only down side is my board from the last version was no where to be seen. Had to redo it.
