Reviews of Word Club Spelling+Vocabulary

  • This app is very, very helpful.

This has been very useful to me in studying for my spelling bees. This has helped me with my school, local, and national spelling bees and has made it much easier to determine the meanings of words like “Ouagadougou.” If I did not have this app, I would have to look up every word I wanted to know the pronunciation, definition, or etymology of. On some of the lists you are required to give the correct hyphenation, capitalization, spacing, and things such as this. My only feedback is that would be more convenient if this was fixed, but I will certainly keep using the app for my studying if it is not corrected. This resource has been tremendously valuable for my spelling bees and I am very thankful that it exists.
  • Missed words don’t automatically save

Really hoping the developers redesign the end of quiz screen so there is a warning before hours worth or practice history is erased with no chance of recovering missed words. I imagine most users are learning the hard way the first time around.
  • Great app, a few issues

This is for sure a very useful resource, whether you’re entering a school - level bee or you’re going into the regional round. However; I only have a couple weeks to prepare for the bee, and here are some things I wish this app had:

    1. A VOCABULARY TEST. I know the app has a section of treats where it asks you for the definition of the word, but it would be great to have a vocabulary test of words from the specialized vocabulary list in the Words of the Champions.
    2. A MIXED TEST. Another important thing that would be helpful is a mixed word test that will give you 20 words from the ENTIRE Words of the Champions list. This is good for some extra - randomized practice.

In addition, there are a few minor issues. First of all, I have noticed some very minor differences between the spellings on the Words of Champions list and the words on the app. Second, I will get the word wrong if I don’t include the right diacritic mark, which gets very annoying. Third, what are the bees even for?

Otherwise, this is a great app, and I would definitely recommend using it to study for a spelling bee.
