2.0

May 15, 2020

Long time no see, Smoke users! Don’t worry, I have spent my time in isolation wisely and am very happy to say that Smoke 2.0 is ready for you to use! This update is pretty big, not just in size but in scope of the Apple Watch platform in general. While Smoke 1.0 brought only parts of your Steam account to the Apple Watch, 2.0 brings a trimmed down version of the full Steam game store to your wrist! You can browse multiple charts, from Top Selling to New Releases, while also being able to search for any game, app or soundtrack your heart desires! See a game you want to buy? Force press on the game page and save it to your phone (Smoke Plus required). Anyway, no update is complete without a few other small features, so here is a list of what else is included in Smoke 2.0: - Smoke can now run as an independent watchOS app, meaning you don’t need to sign in to use Smoke anymore! Users without Steam accounts will only be able to access the Store. (This feature has received very little testing as of yet. Let me know how it goes!) - Bug fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements (iOS and watchOS) - Changed “Set account to Public” alert text to be more accurate (iOS) - Added new features to Smoke Plus information (iOS) - Changed “Logout” alert text to reflect new app changes (iOS) - Made “Third-Party Software” text uneditable (iOS) - Made “Use Chrome to open...” text text go to two lines to prevent clipping on small screens (iPhone SE) (iOS) - Made the News screen not scrollable when no news articles are saved (iOS) - A game that is already saved will not be saved again (iOS) - Added support for Spotlight search. Search for saved news articles and games to open them instantly (iOS) - Fixed a bug where games without a price would cause the app to crash (watchOS) - Added current player counts for games (watchOS) - Added a force-press option in Store to reload the search cache (watchOS) - Added more information to the Help section (watchOS) Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Smoke, it means a lot! I have a new app on the way soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Also a massive thank you to the health professionals around the world delivering care to those with COVID-19.

1.1

Smoke 1.1 is finally here, and brings with it a few bug fixes plus a new feature! Here is a handy list of what's included: - Fixed a bug where the You section would crash if a user had not configured their Steam Community page (watchOS) - Fixed a bug where user’s profile would crash if they recently played a game without enough public information (game title, logo etc.)(watchOS) - Friends, Games and News are now sorted by alphabetical order by default. Friends can also be sorted by their status and Games can be sorted by hours played. Configured in Settings. (watchOS) - Other bug fixes and improvements. Hopefully these fixes solve some of the problems a few users were having, and the new sorting feature makes trawling through all your friends and games a little bit easier. Thanks, Archer

Reviews of Smoke

  • Worst app ever can not even sign in to steam

This is practically the worst app ever I used to be able to sign into steam, and now I cannot, which makes the app totally useless a four dollar paperweight that I waste don’t ever buy it don’t ever get it turned away from this app
  • Games page crashes on Apple Watch

When you open the games page (set to public on steam), the app crashes (ran on a series 3 watch). I hope the developer can find a fix to this. Other than that, the app works great.
