  • Made easy

I love the simplicity of the app that makes it super user friendly. It has everything you would want in an app for book clubs. From discussion boards to video conferences it makes it easy and in the palm of your hand.

However I wish I could add this in a widget on my Home Screen. It would be nice to glance at my club without needing to go into the app!

Thanks for the review, glad you're loving it. And thank you as well for the suggestion!
  • Almost Perfect - missing one key element

Meetings need to have a comment section for members to post. Maybe they are a yes but will be 15 minutes late. Maybe a non-host wants to remind everyone to bring book suggestions. Many meetings are also potlucks so people need to post what they are bringing. Yes, there is a general messages section but it gets unwieldy for us to start a new message for every meeting called “Put comments here for March Meeting”. It would be so much better organized if we could comment directly in the meeting itself.

  • Excellent but could be even more with updates!

Love this app. There are a few updates/ease of access and organization that would make it even better!
    1. Favorite authors section under “my books”. (Then when click on authors can navigate through their books)
    2. WIDGET for IPhone users.
    4. A start date and finished date for the book read. So you can see length of time it took.
    5. A notes/comment section for yourself.
    6. A Home Screen/ main page when app is opened.
—Have a home page that combines all the key info. Current readings, the meeting time for the book club. A page that just gives the overall information and then you can click from there (kind of like mini widgets on one page).

Thanks so much for all of these ideas! We love feedback and are always working on incorporating new feedback.
  • Excellent App/Website to Manage Your Book Club!

Our neighborhood book club switched from Book Movement to Book Clubs at the end of last year, and we are really enjoying the enhanced experience. We love the design and capabilities of the feature-rich app and website, including the ability to upload photos from past meetings, upload documents (like recipes from holiday parties), send private messages, rate books, and create polls (like helping to choose between two books). I was able to easily upload our list of ten years of prior books via an Excel file. Reminders and notifications are always sent timely, and I generally receive helpful responses to the questions and issues I’ve shared with the Book Clubs team. There are just a few unaddressed items that I previously shared which would make our experience even better -

We need to add a notification with next month’s book choice. This should be automatically sent on the day following the current month’s meeting (e.g., send notice of March’s book selection the day after February’s meeting). Book Clubs is set up so that notices are sent when a meeting is created or updated, unless you turn off that notice. Since we often select our books months in advance, we need a reminder of what book was selected before each meeting.
The meeting reminder emails should include the hosts’ names, and not just their physical addresses.
Regardless, I highly recommend this app (and website) to manage your book club!

Thanks, so glad you are enjoying the app! We have a number of enhancements in the works for clubs that pick all their books for the year at once - this is on that list, hopefully later this year!
  • Easy to use, but could be improved

I have been using this app for a couple of months now and I like it for the most part. I wish there was a comments or discussion section for members to post in the meeting invites. It would be helpful to have that for members to post what they are bringing or anything they wish to communicate to the group for that particular meeting. Also for some reason when I add an address to the meetings, it never posts it the first time around and I have to come back and edit the meeting to add it again. It’s a small thing and likely user error, but it has happened twice. If we could save addresses or if it populated the location I am typing in it would be nice. Lastly, I think it could be a little more intuitive. Perhaps opening to a Home/Welcome Screen? I am not sure how to articulate what I mean. Just a place for the user to start visually with like your next event and book recommendations based on previous meetings and ratings. It doesn’t feel intuitive to me that it opens up to meetings, which is in the middle of the options as opposed to the left. If it were a home button that stood out, maybe. I will continue to use the app. It seems like the makers are frequently putting out updates and read the reviews for constructive criticism. I hope this helps!

Hi Tricia, This does help! Thanks for your constructive feedback. We'll definitely consider this as we continue to improve the app - coming back to add that we have added a Home Screen!
  • Very handy for zoom book clubs

I love how you can recommend books to your book club just by searching and posting. I WISH this app integrated with Goodreads so that I can share my Goodreads library to this app. The task of getting that information together to load into this app manually seems daunting. Overall love, but would be 5 stars if it integrated with Goodreads

Hi Tarabobarra, unfortunately we're not able to integrate with Goodreads at this time, but you are able to export you Goodreads library and import it into Bookclubs! You will need to do it from the website (not the app) - go to your bookshelf and click "upload book list"
  • Bookclubs

A clever app designed for most needs of a new or established book club. As a new user of the app our team is looking at all of the apps elements and how we can use it to its fullest.
We the app exclusively best Bookclubs app found.
  • Best Book Club App!

This is a very simple and easy app which is perfect! I love the automatic reminder emails , meeting set up to have links and the book liked . Night recommend!
  • I never write App Store reviews… but this time

This is an amazing app! I can’t recommend it enough. I will make a donation to thank the developers team for this incredible work.
  • Suggestion

It would be great if I could see a "Meetings" tab in my profile so that I can view the upcoming meetings I RSVP'd "Yes" to. Lastly, I hope the app can give me a notification to let me know that a book meeting will take place soon.
