  • Good Device

It works pretty good, not perfect, but completely acceptable. There is a short lag in the conversation, but it is certainly better than handing a device back and forth. It is a little pricey, but if you need a translator, it is worth it.
Is it perfect, no, but it is better than other translators I’ve tried.
I was not paid any compensation for this review.

  • Waste of good money. Horrible purchase decision

I travel to numerous countries on business and concur with all the reviews that suggest this product doesn’t work as advertised. I have literally followed all of the manufacturer’s recommendations because I really needed the product to work, but unfortunately it simply does not. While using Timekettle I have used a translation app (both Google Translate and Papago) simultaneously on different device and achieved far superior results. These have now been collecting dust in my desk drawer after spending countless hours trying to make them work and experiencing frustrating/embarrassing situations in front of clients.

  • Great app but crummy ergonomics

I love the performance of the app.
But even though I’m a computer analyst, I cannot find the offline status of the “fish”-bought packages. I’m at the airport now and I have no clue if the packages will work offline when I land in China. This is anxiogenic and not what I would expect from an expensive and modern device like this one. I’m removing two stars.

  • Good concept - just doesn’t work

Like many recent reviews, the company must have released an app so full of bugs it makes the earbuds useless. Don’t buy the earbuds because you’ll likely need to return them. Don’t download the app. The privacy policy allows sharing with nearly 20 Chinese firms like Wechat and Baidu.
  • Love the concept, but could be better

I purchased the Timekettle M3 translator earbuds so that I could speak with my Russian girlfriend, and they have worked out fairly well except I continually have a problem that when she speaks, it does not translate right away, and I always have to ask her to repeat what she said. It seems if there’s any delay in conversation then it goes into a sort of sleep mode and wakes up when conversation starts, but doesn’t always want to translate what it said until the next full thing is said. I have also noticed the accuracy of the translation could be better as some of the things that have been translated have almost started a fight between us. Lol. I can work around the translation, but it would be great if it was more accurate.

  • Translate

    Update app Translate mistakes 70%
  • 垃圾

    你要是没有做好一个app,可不可以不要更新。本来老的app是可以用的,现在做这么一个垃圾你更新你mlgb呢???咱没这金刚钻别揽这瓷器活,你要是不会做软件,就tm回学校重学,别出来恶心人呗
  • Not worth purchasing

You can learn another language before they make these translation earbuds work sufficiently well.
  • New update

New update looks cool, but phone has to be open now… can’t have it in the background. Disappointed.
  • Close but no cigar

I’m with the reviewer from a year ago. This misses the mark in so many ways. I no longer trust this developer to provide quality product. While emailing with their support staff I was told they are a young startup company—not true— and was offered compensation to change or delete my review— I declined. The app simply isn’t ready. When I speak, it does nothing but show what I said. It does not matter if I’m using online or offline mode. It picks up all the background trash noise and tries to translate the sound of a lorry/ truck going by. (If failed to translate that as well :). ) Bottom line— Timekettle’s product does not work as advertised and the company seems to have gone shady.
