Sycophants for big tech
I was expecting The Information would have a deep understanding of how the tech industry works, as well as insider knowledge you couldn’t find in other media. And in that they succeeded. But I was ALSO hoping they would use understanding and knowledge to create hard-hitting journalism that held tech to account like no other publication could. And in that, they failed.
The Information just fawns over and fetes tech, like everybody in the tech echo chamber wants and expects (and I say this as a tech insider). Sadly, this is just yet another VC newsletter self-aggrandizing tech. There’s no real journalism going on here. App still buggy
Email an article to someone, and after that, screen goes blank and app has to be rebooted.
Truly sad that the product of a company that specializes in the tech scene and charges an arm and a leg can’t get its act together on a basic mobile news app.Zen 222
Dark Mode
Dark Mode is all that I ask for. All news apps have it. I read The Information mostly at night before going to bed. I end reading the articles in Safari with a dark mode extension; can’t believe I’ve to resort to that tactic in 2023. Please give the people Dark Mode.kerry369
Pretty bad app
The news are original and Ok (doubt about ROI with their price). But the app is pretty bad:
1) no dark mode
2) no bookmarks
3) no ipad app

The app makes my subscription worse
I'm most frustrated by not having a dark mode. If I read articles in any other news app, the app is able to match my device theme and have a dark mode. For The Information articles, I need to read them in my inbox or in a browser to avoid blinding myself with the white background. It's not that hard to implement a dark theme - PLEASE DO IT!legochris100

Lags when you scroll
Reporting is great, pricing is fair/debatable whatever- this is a review on the app.

Auto renewal with no refund
The Information auto renewed for me without enough warning. I was caught off guard. They also won’t issue a prorated refund after canceling. I should have immediately canceled my subscription after subscribing to prevent a surprise bill down the road._Lucas___
Pricing scam and poor customer service.
They charge $399 for the first year and then after downloading the app it says $299. Now they refuse to refund the difference. Just makes for a very bad first impression.iso.roba72
