Well thought out app

A lot of thought was pit into this app. There are so many different cool features. It’s like a hub for fitness training. I have ran into a couple bugs, but each update fixes them. Customer service genuinely wants to make the app better

Love/hate

I love my Maxpro - it’s an amazing product. I really want to love the app too, but it’s gotten pretty frustrating lately with bugs. The worst bug right now is that it won’t complete the workout when I read the end of it. It’s constantly asking if I was to resume or restart a workout - even though I already finished it. Sometimes during a workout it quits counting my reps and sets and get stuck in a continuous loop of the same thing and won’t let me skip to the next exercise.

So much potential…

The app constantly crashes. The only time I am able to get it to work is with a preset workout (premium subscription required). I am using an iPhone 14 and an Apple Watch. The app doesn’t sync with Apple health even though all permissions are granted. The watch app is buggy. The phone app just shuts down, EVERYTIME a video is started. Uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted devices… nothing helps. So disappointing. Certainly not worth $9.99 monthly for a premium subscription. It should all be free anyway (considering how expensive the maxprofitness is alone). I feel like I’m paying to be a guinea pig until the bugs are worked out. Shame… look elsewhere for your exercise routines.

I really want to like this

The device is great but the app isn’t working correctly anymore. Recently I’ve noticed half way through a workout my app stops recording my session reps. It’ll try and then zero out (it worked fine for the entire workout up until the last group). I even tried disconnect and reconnecting. Nothing. A little disheartening if you are trying to compare workouts using the app metrics. Hope they fix this soon. Otherwise the app is pointless.

Good hardware, useless app with a paywall

The max pro device works fine without the app - which is good thing, since the app is buggy and unstable. Creating a new account, logging in and staying logged in is a challenge. Workout classes and user generated social content are locked behind a paywall and might be worth $9.99 a month if the app worked, but it doesn’t. Sort reviews by “most recent” to get a realistic impression of the app. Keep your shipping boxes in case you decide to use the 30 day return option.

Updated Review

Had a few issues before with the app and some of my missing items from my order. One call to the support team and they resolved all issues and even worked on some extra perks due to my troubles. Would highly recommend this product. Great machine. Great customer service. Top notch company

Decent device, terrible app

The app has a serious lack of QA. The casting button for videos is entirely unresponsive 90% of the time and when it does respond, it just shows an error. I emailed the team about it and they had me record a video of the issue. In the 5 months since, there has been no improvement, but now I also get notifications to join premium classes that I can’t find a way to turn off.

The device and workouts are so good, but in the end it’s such a disappointing experience due to the app.

Keep having to restart

I was hoping to use this app more and sign up for premium but I wanted to try on a bigger screen so I can see better than on my phone...so I downloaded the macbook app to my laptop. Unfortunately the videos do not expand to full screen size and the app also keeps trying to flip the screen under certain circumstances like it would on an iphone (but a laptop screen doesn't flip). In addition, when this happens, it cuts off most of the screen so I can't even see the full veiw of what's going on looking sideways. So far this occurs 1. after I've paused on FreeStyle and then push play again, 2. during Train Presets when pressing skip. At this point I have to close the app completely and restart it in order to get the videos facing the right direction. The Exit button doesn't work in these instances. I also notice that all the options at the top of the videos overlap eachother so you can't always click the correct button. This could be a cool app so I hope it can be fixed to work with the larger screen that is says it's compatible with.

Needs work

The workouts are great but the app is rather buggy. I can’t get the app to recognize my Apple Watch. Many of the workouts only have time for a right or left side of your body - skipping the other side. Other workouts for a specific side only count half the reps while other workouts double count reps. If you pause a workout or skip a module in the workout then the session won’t save. The app just needs more testing and attention to detail.

After a few updates the app works good

I wish the the app was more usable for people who can’t afford the subscription after paying for the equipment. I have premium, but I get why people would be upset about it. The app works good once you subscribe!
