Limiting, but Good Quality
My other issue with the gameplay of this (and CoG) is that you really only have the option to do/say what you like in the first chapter, and from then on, you're limited to picking the "correct" answers, based on the choices you made in the first chapter. It's a shame that you can't play as a multi-faceted character because of this, and it makes the stories stressful, and the character of "yourself" less interesting. If you choose an option/answer that doesn't match the skills that correspond with the choices you made in chapter one, then something bad, and often humiliating, will nearly ALWAYS happen to your character, and who wants that? To make matters worse, you can't currently go back to the previous page, and change your choice, should you wish. You have to replay the whole chapter. It would be nice, for example, if we could create characters that generally use brains over brawn, but can still throw a punch when needed, or if the "muscle" characters didn't always have to use intimidation as the answer. It would also be nice to be able to develop your character. For instance, you could start off as a snob, but gradually become more laid back. Currently, if you start off as a snob, then you're a snob to the end, who will fall on their face if you try and be anything else. I would absolutely prefer that these games do away with the stat system altogether, so that we can just play through, without worrying about what the "right" and "wrong" choices are, throughout.
Apart from the above improvements that I would like to see happen, the stories are well developed and written, and I will often spend hours reading/playing at a time. I think the length of free content you get at the start of each story is fantastic - it gives you great opportunity to find out whether or not you want to invest money in the rest of the story, and it's long enough to really reel you in ;) The prices are very reasonable, too, I would say.
Best regards. 🙂👋
