Description of MoCáp

MoCáp turns your iPhone* and iPad* into a motion capture studio! * Need an A12 chip or newer device, i.e., iPhone XS/XR/XS Max, iPad Air 3rd generation, iPad Pro 3rd generation, or more modern device. Rise your iPhone or iPad, point the camera toward a person, and start making your motion capture masterpiece. MoCáp saves the motion data into the flexible bvh file. You can then use it in your favorite 3D character creation tool, like Cinema 4D, Maya(via MotionBuilder), Blender, Poser, and so. Upgrade to Grande to support us and enable pro features: - Setup the frame rate and file format for motion capturing - Access all history recordings (2 for the free version) - More to come (how about an Apple Watch remoter ;] )

Reviews of MoCáp

  • Crash

New iPhone 14 app crashes immediately
  • I HATE THIS APP

If I could rate 0 stars I would because you have to have an XS or newer phone!!! 😡
That is the dumbest think I’ve ever heard
    100% DONT RECOMMEND

    Developer Response

Sorry for what you encountered. MoCáp records motion capture by applying the ARKit functionality and it requires an A12 chip iOS device. I describes such limitation in the app description and onboarding screen. But unfortunately there’s no way currently to filter those devices in App Store platform. When it becomes possible or the technology basis updates, I will do my best to deliver such changes to the app.
  • Awesome app!

Will this app ever get an FBX update

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback. MoCáp has the specific skeleton set-up to make body detection work through the AR camera. You can use MoCáp motion data by exporting your Daz3D character into Maya, Blender, or other 3D tools and assigning the translation and/or rotation data to specific bones. For example, you can use Copy Rotation Bone Constraint in Blender to copy recorded bone rotation to your character's relative bone.
