  • Love it but wish I hadn’t paid

I’ve had the free version of this game for several years and I’ve loved it. The puzzle game is my favorite because I can find words at my own pace and I can keep it going for a really long time and it’s still challenging but not too challenging. I’ve even had a puzzle round going for a couple years when I would just play occasionally. For some reason a few days ago I got impatient with the ads and just caved and bought the game, but it immediately got way harder with the 5 and 6 letter rules. It’s frustrating when I’m finding good words but they still don’t work because they’re not 6 letters. I wish I could go back to the unpaid version just so it could be a little easier. Or if there was a way to make there be different levels of difficulty that I could choose from that would make the game perfect!

  • Good game but stop the censorship

Great game and borderline addictive. I don’t have gripes with how hard it can get - other reviewers need to broaden their vocabulary and learn new words!

My main complaint is that it won’t register certain “triggering” words. Racial slurs and bad language I can totally understand. However, I think “noose” is a perfectly acceptable 5 letter word to use however the game won’t allow it. We’re all grownups here. If I can spell and recognize what the word is, give me the points for finding it.

  • Strange suspicion

I enjoy the game quite a bit. Enough so that I paid for an app to avoid ads. I do NOT buy apps but I made an exception. The game boards are supposedly random, but I have noticed many letter patterns that repeat over and over again. For instance, the combination “S-N-I-S” appears in succession about every 3-4 games. The N is always diagonal from the first S and the NIS is always in order without being diagonal. I’m not sure how this mathematically even makes sense as a possibility if the games truly are random.

  • Somewhat Frustrating

I don’t know what happened. I tried this game free with ads to make sure I enjoyed it. I was able to play puzzle mode for ages and build up a high score. It was enjoyable using enough words to where I had to start getting creative because I had already used so many words in the puzzle. Because I was enjoying this app I got the ad-free version. Since then it’s been very difficult. The scores I get now are one third of what my score was originally. I almost never run into repeating words in a puzzle. They throw in so many blank, “5”, and “6” letter tiles that it is impossible to play the puzzle for very long.

  • Disappointed

When I started this game 3 years ago, it was really fun and you could go at it for a long time. Now the computer goes filling your new letters with the LETTER I in all spaces and it’s really BAD. There is no way to make a word with infinite letter I I I I I I one after another. So it defies the purpose of making you think and find new words. The computer just aims to frustrate you and make you fail. And I just paid for this game. I still have the old game you could go on and on. Not only that, the computer decides that if you have found a word before you cannot use anymore WHY? It is still a word. Also they have added the stupid numbers to force a word with 4 5. 6. 7 letters…… and the computer fills your letters with the letter I one after another. REALLY? I will love to see YOUR COMPUTER TO MAKE A WORD WITH SEVEN LETTERS I one after another! Very stupid at the end

  • Works poorly on iPad, most annoying ads

The app is slow and unresponsive on my iPad. Also selecting letters at the bottom edge opens the iPad menu. Do not recommend.

Furthermore- I have this app on my iphone, paid for the ad-free version. If you download on another device and don’t pay again you are stuck with the most annoying ads on the planet. The ads are so annoying I’m thinking of deleting it on my iPhone too.

  • Don’t buy the ad free version

Although the ads were annoying the ad free version is more fun on the puzzle mode. I thought I would buy the game so that I could get rid of the ads but then puzzle mood got really hard. They punish you for buying the ad free version by making it harder than the version with the ads. My friend who has it and plays it all the time has a really high rank score because she has the free version and the game is less challenging in puzzle mode. I can’t get anywhere on the ad free version in power mode! If I could go back in time I would’ve never evergiven the money to buy the game just because it would’ve been more enjoyable not to be so hard.

  • I want to love it but the ads…

I buy games on iOS. I want to love this one and get an ad or two but the quantity of ads and inability to close them (there is no option, the it’s an App Store download pop up, then you have to find the 1 pixel “x” that takes time to appear) make this a no go for me. I couldn’t get through a full game and eventually gave up.

  • Fun to play until you get an ad

The ads make it impossible to play. At first I got ads in between games which was fine. Then I started getting ads every couple turns and they were difficult or impossible to close. Sometimes there was a very small x to close that would appear after the video to close the ad. Sometimes hitting the x would not close the ad and sometimes there was no x at all.
I just wanted a game I could play to relax, but not sure if I’d pay $5 for it.

  • L-o-n-g ads

I love this game, but the ads are so long! Other games I play have shorter ads, or ones that you can skip to the end of, and I play those games more because of it. Please, please, make the ads shorter so that I can play this more. I don’t mind short ads — I consider them a fair trade-off. But these long ones are sucking the joy out of this game.
