Seems to be a scam
Download and tried. Links in emails don’t work and I think it might actually be a scam. Feels like it wants to take your money and not actually do any thing.

Well designed app
The App serves its purpose and beyond. The app is well designed and the ability to be notified when the app is removed from a phone is great but the ability to ensure the app can’t be removed is even better. The app has some great features to block certain apps and websites and limit screen time. The only con of this app is the VPN which sometimes made it impossible to make certain online purchases or go to some websites. Perfectly fine if this is going on your child’s phone but less functional for an adult.
To bypass the VPN we would have to remove the app which is a huge con. The location notification function is an added bonus. Overall good app!

Best on the market
Best app on the market for nsfw blocking - with customising and tweaking certain settings of course. However there are still multiple ways to bypass this app such as using apps like telegram or KIK and certain browsers like Startpage etc.. it doesn’t filter out content well at all on X and Reddit which was another blow. I think overall though the fact it can filter out content irl is impressive especially considering apples security restrictions. It would be nice once it detected a nsfw photo in the photos library if it permanently deleted it because it can still be accessed in the deleted section and also it doesn’t pick up on videos so if there is a nsfw video saved it in the photos library it can be accessed without any issues. Support wasn’t very helpful when I contacted them and the phone number provided both on the app and website doesn’t work which is odd. It would be nice to block certain app categories from being downloaded instead of all apps as people still need to regularly download apps

Blocks a lot but some quirks
Overall we had a good experience of Canopy blocking lustful/pornographic material. It does have some quirks. I manage Canopy for my family, and I always keep it disabled on my computer. However, when I turn my computer on sometimes it seems as if it is struggling to register that it is disabled and will block all internet use on my computer until it thinks for a few minutes and connects, sometimes I have to restart my computer to get it to work right and allow me to use internet.
I also wish there was a more time options for disabling canopy for certain time periods. The options to disable for a time period go 5min, 15min, 1 hr, 3 hr, 12 hr, 24 hr and indefinitely. Often I only need to pause it for 30 min for a family member but end up having to pause for a whole hour because 30min isn’t an option. In the future, it’s be neat if Canopy came out with the option to pause for whatever amount you want. So someone could type in 25 minutes or 45 minutes, etc.

A Good Tool To Have in Your Toolbox
We have been using Canopy on laptops and handheld devices in our household for about a year. We have been pleased with it because of its methods of using AI to filter images and content. It may not be perfect, but it will err on the side of safety rather than letting things sneak through. So yes, it may sometimes filter out things that you do not find offensive, but I would much rather deal with that than the alternative!
Canopy is one tool in the whole “Internet-usage toolbox” of a family. It helps us teach our kids that healthy self-imposed boundaries on the Internet are worth it. When we set good boundaries and learn to live within them then you learn that you can thrive more than when you recklessly expose yourself to all of the junk this world has to offer.
Like any tool, there are techniques and procedures to learn about how to use Canopy wisely and effectively, but it is worth it!

My phone thinks I’m a bot
I do not recommend this app. I don’t typically write reviews but felt to share my experience so others don’t have to go through this. I Downloaded this app to protect my families internet and web browsing as well as block any unwelcome content on our phones. Slowly, apps stopped working on my phone. I could no longer log into restaurant apps to order food, could not log into my cell phone provider to pay bills, etc etc. I believe it is due to the fact that this app uses Artificial Intelligence. I even had some safe web browsers blocking my access to protect their community as they noted that they believed I was not who I said I was (paraphrasing). As soon as I deleted this app, I immediately regained access to my cell phone provider, food apps, etc. There are better apps out there. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS ONE!!

Protects with room for improvement
Overall we are happy with Canopy and like others have stated kudos to the Canopy team for working hard and making an app to protect our kids and others from explicit images. It is more than sad that we have to fight this battle.
We use it for kids devices and for the most part it does what it is supposed to do as far as blocking content. It is a bit buggy on Apple devices and I have a slow response on my parental app. But other than that, I feel much better knowing it is there and blocking what it is supposed to block.

I’m relieved that my kids devices have a safety barrier
I would give this app a 5 star however the setup is a bit cumbersome and it can be a bit slow but from my experience over the last couple of years it works and I get notified of websites being attempted and photos being received that I should review.
