A little better
Now that the hot water available is back to what it used to be, that’s good. However, it doesn’t show the current date, and I cannot see where it can be changed.

I called at least 7 times and no one can help. They have no idea what is wrong please fix it. I paid a lot of money and they don’t have a clue. What I want to know is when you are going to fix it. I wonder if I’m going to get an answer to my review and when this will be fixed I wish someone would answer me review. Thank you.

App is frozen, useless
The app worked when I first set up the water heater, but it is now no functional. No error message, just a splash screen that never changes on my iPad. I see no way to try to fix this.

Aside from the fact that it doesn’t work at all and is 100% useless, it’s fine (not)

Nothing in this app works correctly
Constant network issues. Signs you out all the time. Now the heater water quantity has changed to % after a recent update (Oct24) and this doesn't work either. Development team you have some serious work todo…do u actually get reliable IOT data from the end user devices? This shouldn't be so hard to get right. Shame, because if it worked properly it would be useful.

“Connectivity” app loses connectivity
I use this to manage the AO Smith water heater at a shared family cabin, switching between vacation and heating modes. In 15 months I’ve multiple times received the message that the AO Smith network can’t be reached or something, rendering the app useless. Just now for the second time in a few months the app has forgotten the water heater I configured, and just gives me a screen titled “let’s get started”. I can only re-add it when standing next to it! So frustratingly stupid.

Upside down hot water status in v. 13.0.0
Developers have replaced a simple circular display of hot water status with an upside down vertical display, that literally says “empty” when the heat pump has completed a heating cycle. Does anybody do quality control at AO Smith/State?
They fixed everything
They listened to all of the reviews and did something about the app. The latest version doesn’t even open. The blue screen is very pretty and relaxing.
