Reviews of Stardust

  • Great! ; Minor bumps/suggestions

i really do love this app. i’m a new user but i really like the sleekness of the design, and how focused it is on accuracy as well as reporting your expected hormonal changes. it’s also not focused on women, specifically, and clad in pink. i’m a trans man and this app has made me so much more comfortable. you can tell this was designed with *actual* afab people in mind by afab people with so much care
that said, to the developers, it’s nothing very wrong! i’ve just noticed that most of the times i open the app, it gets stuck on loading on both wifi and data. sometimes it sticks on loading the stardust name, sometimes it loads up to the main page but there’s still that sparkle loading icon underneath all the ui. it’s not a big deal, just something i noticed c: additionally, it’d be nice to add on days to your period without having to re-enter the first day of your period. like keeping the days for your period you’ve already entered, and just selecting how many days extra
other than the smallest bugs, i’ve had no problems and it’s so reassuring to use a tracker that isn’t selling my data

    Developer Response

Hello, Thanks so much for leaving a review and for your feedback! Could you please try updating the app and see if that resolves the loading issue? You should be able to add days without entering the start of your period, are you using the "adjust period" button? Please reach out to support@stardust.app and we'll be able to look into this there. So happy to hear you're otherwise enjoying the app! All the best, The Stardust Team
  • IMMACULATE

Period synched up with the moon cycles??? SAY LESS. There are so many amazing features to this app, I cannot stop talking about it. You can track your period, share with friends, and share with a partner. You can add your friends cycles and see how you’re synched up with them. One of my favorite features personally is the graph of hormones at each phase of your cycle. My luteal phase can be particularly rough because I live with PTSD & ADHD so it’s nice to have this insider look at what’s going on so I don’t feel insane all the time. The color scheme? Amazing, so beautiful and colorful. You have endless options for tracking symptoms. I get a lot of food cravings and one option is “exclusively Mac n cheese” 😂 They just truly hit the mark in every way with this app. My second favorite feature? In the settings they explicitly state that your data is yours and yours alone, no company or government will ever have access to it 🥲 Last thing I’ll say is that there is a FREE version so it’s accessible for everyone no matter your budget (although if the free one is this dope, I can’t imagine how much better the paid version is).

  • Do better Stardust. 😒

I want to give this a 5 star but consciously can’t. I’ve been using Stardust for the past 3 to 4 years roughly because I was suggested to by a friend . It was in its start up period then. Stardust was automatically my overall FAVORITE menstruation tracker on the market. It has a clean yet vivid design, the ability to log on it like a diary along with very helpful algorithms for personalized trends around your reported symptoms moods and cravings. As well as (at the time) gender neutral to conscious language. I quickly took to using it weekly sometimes even daily.

But as pay walls became more prevalent in the apps design so did very clearly gendered marketing with exclusionary language in the form of ‘daily motivational quotes’ appeared. I had a very positive experience of this application well before these unnecessary new features and I’m now looking for a different tracker all together because of it. I’m a queer person who is genderfluid and I find the “your pants are as full as the moon tonight girl!” To be very un motivating and disillusioning especially at the peak of my ‘fullness’. I now dread logging on to see what new ‘motivation’ awaits. It is disappointing since I’ve yet to find a track that’s as intuitive to use, consistent in predictive accuracy and actually gender affirming.

But for those who gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss this should work out just fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Developer Response

Hi Lan, Thanks so much for leaving a review and for your feedback, and bringing this notification to our attention! This has been flagged for the team to adjust. We've tried to purge the app of gendered language, if you see any additional instances of this in notifications, please don't hesitate to let us know at support@stardust.app. We want this app to always be a safe and inclusive space! In terms of the paywall features, we’re here to assure you that there will ALWAYS be a free version and all the features you have now will stay that way and not be taken away. We had to add paid features in order for our company to afford our server costs and to pay the salaries of our employees. As you know, we do not sell data (and never will) and we needed a way to generate revenue to keep the app afloat so we can continue to provide the free features & resources! All the best, The Stardust Team
