Response from developer
Hi Ravi! Thanks for trying ZEN Kayak. I understand that your privacy is important, but thankfully I think I can alleviate your concerns. Most of the data items you listed are all completely optional and only used for specific features within the app. Here is an explanation of each: 1. Usage Data - App usage data collected through a third-party analytics service. 2. Email Address - Required for account creation. Basic app features work without an account and if you do decide to sign-up, you will be given the option to use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature. 3. Username - When you create an account, you will be asked to create a username. You can choose anything you'd like, so there is no need to give away any private information. 4. Geographic Position - The main features of ZEN Kayak require your location. You will be asked to grant GPS permission if you would like to view kayak launches nearby or record your kayak journeys. This is completely optional though. You are free to reject this permission when prompted and you will still be able to use the apps basic search features. 5. Profile Picture - This is not currently used directly, but may be retrieved as a side-effect of our authentication service, which may retrieve the profile photo from the account you use to sign-in. 6. Cookies, First name, Last Name - These currently aren't collected by the ZEN Kayak iOS app, but may be collected on our website which uses the same privacy policy. I personally have made an effort to only collect the data that is necessary for the functionality of the app, so I assure you there is nothing to be scared of. I hope you are satisfied with this explanation and will consider giving ZEN Kayak another chance. Either way, your feedback is much appreciated. Have a ZEN day! -Travis
