Version History of PT Timer

3.3.18

July 7, 2024

• Fixed: When paused you can now (again) easily swipe from the instructions page to the navigation or parameter pages. • New: Additional actions when pausing exercise. Previously you could choose whether—and how—to show instructions when pausing an exercise; now you can alternatively choose to show the navigator or the parameters page when paused. Go to CONFIG > APP > Pause•Instructions•Abort and tap ACTION WHEN PAUSED to set the default behavior. • New: You can now select a custom time period when viewing the log and creating PDF reports. • Fixed: Several user interface corrections.

More

3.3.17

June 25, 2024

• Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when rating exercise difficulty. • Fixed a bug that could interfere with creating a new exercise.

3.3.16

June 9, 2024

• New exercises are now created from the WORKOUTS tab (the NEW tab has been eliminated). • You now have several additional options for counting reps, letting you know how far you are through your reps. Go to the CONFIG tab and choose your default for REP START cue. As with other settings, you can also select this on a per-exercise basis. • Thanks to dozens of user feedback the list of equipment has grown large. Thank you! The equipment list is now better organized and searchable, so you can more easily find the equipment you're looking for. • The interface for entering exercise instructions (text, pictures, URL, audio) has been improved. • The menu user interface has been updated. • You can now control in more detail when the completion prompt is shown. Go to the CONFIG tab and select the default for Completion prompt. • Parts of the user interface now better support the larger accessibility font sizes. • Mini-guides can now be accessed via the menu buttons. • Fixed so that the choice of how audio instructions are given on start and pause are consistent. That is, when paused, the Play Instructions button will either read the written instructions or play the audio recording, according to your settings.

More

3.3.15

April 16, 2024

• Internal improvements for better robustness and for compatibility with future versions of iOS. • The side-indicator is now shown also for exercises that are setup for left-only or right-only. • Fixed a bug in the user interface for creating a circuit (multiple rounds of exercises within a workout). • Improved performance when restoring from backups and importing from exports.

More

3.3.14

January 15, 2024

• When generating a report you can now choose to include all workouts, not just those that are scheduled. • You now have the option to view any instructional pictures (in full, not just as thumbnails as part of the instructions) when an exercise starts and/or pauses. You can set this option for each exercise as needed, or for all exercises using Config tab > Overrides. • You can now reset schedules for workouts in a session (previously, reset affected all workouts). Resetting schedules can be useful if, for some good reason, you have fallen behind such that many workouts are overdue. • Added more exercise equipment options: sponge and putty (e.g. for hand therapy).

More

3.3.13

September 26, 2023

- New feature: The log of completed exercises can now be cleared. To do so, view the log (either for all workouts or for just one) then long-press on one of the log entries to delete it and all earlier entries. - Fixed a bug that could cause PT Timer to use excessive storage on your device. - Fixed several minor user interface issues.

More

3.3.12

April 2, 2023

• A couple of improvements for use as a meditation timer. You can now choose to have the 'get ready' and 'finished' cues be given as tones (rather than the more prominent spoken cues); a workout can now be assigned the 'mind & body' activity type for sync with HealthKit (first turn on 'Share with Health app' from the Config tab). • A couple of very minor user interface changes; the workout configuration button has been moved in under the menu on the workout detail view. • Some minor bug fixes.

More

3.3.11

March 22, 2023

Bug fix: On the Workout tab, tapping in the search bar now *immediately* shows the selector to view either all, scheduled, favorite, or hidden workouts. (Previously, on recent iOS versions, the selector would not show until text was entered in the search field).

More

3.3.10

March 12, 2023

Added equipment options: pulley (e.g. for shoulder rehab); chair; cane; doorway; wall.

3.3.9

January 15, 2023

• Fixed a situation where a voice recorded instruction would not be played. • When pausing during an exercise, the instruction text is now locked in order to prevent inadvertent changes (tap the EDIT button to make changes). • Added equipment option: Half round foam roller.

  • Extremely customizable!

I have been able to use PT Timer to set up physical therapy, stretching and strength routines, and I feel like I’ve just scratched the surface to its fullest potential! I’m impressed how well thought out this app is, and if you can’t figure something out or think something’s not working correctly or have a feature wish, the developer answers just about immediately! I haven’t experienced customer support to this level in an app before. I also use PT Timer for my yoga asana practice and as a meditation timer. Even as a Pomodoro timer! The possibilities are endless.

  • Best App for Exercise Routines

I wish I had found this app years ago. I’ve historically had limited success with physical therapy or rehabilitation exercises because they’re boring, I procrastinate and run out of time, it feels overwhelming, I can’t keep track of when I did what, etc, etc. This app let me take out all the nonsense and just schedule something realistic and finite every day, and easily see when I’m done. I love the ability to send a report of my planned or actual exercises. The user interface is a little quirky at times with menus not exactly where I would expect them, but the learning curve is SO worth it.

The developer plans to add the ability to share your exercises and workouts with other people. When this is added, it will be even better. But I already love it so much I can’t give it less than 5 stars.

  • Crashes Too Often

If they can get it to stop crashing, it seemed like it would be helpful for coaching you through. Unluckily, it kept crashing while I was setting up my exercises and there were only 6 total.
