  • App OK but could be so much better

    I was worried by the poor feedback when I was first looking to sign up for the tracker almost 2 years ago, but to be fair it does the job.

    My caravan is stored remotely on a farm, so I need to know it is where I expect. The map in standard or satellite mode does that, but the update frequency is a bit random.

    I need to know if the van is moved that I will get informed. A few times I have forgotten to disarm when moving off or disconnecting the battery, most times I have been called, if I have not been called it’s generally because I remembered to disarm shortly after.

    I also need to know the battery level remotely as the tracker and my alarm over several weeks drain the battery, that works well.

    When you need to disarm you click the padlock, select how long for and it’s done. You either let it time out or rearm it manually.

    I would say the let down is the app that just needs some love and care. The image for my caravan was a car now it says “NOREG”, the battery voltage shown is the same colour as the background so is hard to read and generally the app is very basic. However it just works, it logs straight in and that’s what we need.

  • Now a good system.

    Finally, the battery voltage issue seems to have been solved. I have previously given mixed reviews on this tracker and app but following a number of updates I can now say everything works well and have uprated to 5 stars.
  • Much improved App since update

    The old version was dreadfully inoperable especially in places where phone signal was weak but since the upgrade this has worked seamlessly and has so far worked in challenging areas except where there is a complete lack of signal. The operators are efficient at notifying us of our movement once a signal becomes available.

  • Works for me

    Had this app for 10 months a couple of times forgot to disarm and was called when I had breached my security zone. All other times disarmed and was spot on with location, overall very pleased.
  • Poor

    Having been forced to upgrade to the app based tracker at considerable expense I have now lost the ability to locate the van at any time. The app doesn’t seem to refresh at real time and there is no function (that I can see) to ping the van to get a location whenever you want. You have to wait until the app decides to update the status and location. Considering the extra cost this is a very poor upgrade

  • Needs improvements

    Like a previous reviewer our motorhome came fitted with the original non-app based tracker, then last year we agreed to upgrade to this version as we needed something sorted quickly for insurance purposes.
    The response from the security monitoring team is excellent - we’ve accidentally moved the van without disarming the tracker a few times, and always been notified or telephoned.
    However, as noted by another reviewer in Sept 2020, the app does not update the map in real-time as the van travels. This function was not working yesterday. The battery health indicator is also sometimes faulty - I find I have to log in and out a couple of times to get a reading. Not a major issue, but annoying.

  • App is useless

    Totally agree. We have had a call to say our vehicle has moved every time we’ve driven it even though we disarmed it. The company say they are working on it and last time we drove the van we didn’t get a call.... we are driving the van again later this week so fingers crossed but I’m not holding my breath!

    Hi, we've released several updates to address issues, usually related to poor data connections when the apps are connecting to arm and disarm. Glad to see it has now worked for you. Hopefully your problem is now resolved but please let us know if there is any more issues and we will look into this for you.
  • Problems with App

    I purchased a Hal Locate tracker some three months ago. The App doesn’t work. The app tracking map does not seem to keep up as to where the vehicle is located. When I set the app to arm nothing happens and it’s soon after I get perimeter alerts and phone calls from the monitoring centre.
    Think these problems need to be sorted soon as.
    After paying out a significant amount of money for this product I have no confidence in this product at the present time.

    We process data from the trackers in real-time so there won't be an issue with not keeping up. If you have an issue please contact customer services who will help diagnose any issues you may have. We've released several updates since this review so please let us know if you still have problems with this and we will endeavour to help resolve it as quickly as possible.
