I have been using Notes Plus for YEARS, and was excited about a new version.
The program is still the same great note taking, good text recognition and responsive handwriting. And Lots of features.
Why then one star?
After using the “new” version extensively, there are no “new” features. It has all of the same features and the one I had previously. Still has the same persnickety behavior when trying to advance the page with pencil or finger… you end up drawing a line half the time.
So the developer is ten dollars richer, and I am ten dollars poorer because I paid for something I already have.
Last time I blindly purchase an upgrade because I trusted the developer.

Great App Modernized!
I’ve been using the older Notes Plus for several years and after having tried just about all the handwriting-focused note-taking apps I stuck with Notes Plus. It works really well and the handwriting experience is second to none. Notes Plus X is the heart of the older Notes Plus moved into a modern iPadOS app. All the goodness from the old is there but with all the new interface conventions and document-based options you’d want now. It bodes well for the transition to iPadOS 15 too. Apart from being easier to use because it works like very other modern iPad app there are some great advantages to the new document storage, mainly that I can store things wherever I want and on whichever cloud service I want. I’ve got both old and new installed on my iPad but now I never go back to the old. Long live the new Notes Plus X! I am hopeful about the new functionality the developer will be able to deliver on this new foundation. In short, well worth the money, the work on this new version is evident throughout.

A Worthy Upgrade
I enjoyed using Notes Plus and was happy to upgrade to Notes Plus X. I did not waste my money! Congratulations to the Dev for a job well done.
Very buggy
Hello, I was thrilled to see a new version of this app, which has the best rendering of cursive handwriting of any note taking app IMO.
However, the app is freezing and crashing.
Maybe squash some bugs, please? 🥺

Must be a beta version
Notes Plus is a very nice product. I just purchased this new version and am about to go back to the old. The new version has a nicer file management interface but almost everything else appears to work the same just not yet refined.
The reason I am about to go back to the old is because while editing a PDF it keeps jumping back to previous pages. for example, I have page 57 displayed. I’m able to do hand writing with an Apple Pencil on page 57. If I switch to Text input, it jumps back to page 54.
Also, if I convert the handwriting to text and edit the converted text, it bounces back a couple of pages after every word I type.
It’s clearly still a $9.99 beta.
Also the show close up functionality from Notes Plus is not working for me in this new version. There’s an option under Action Items to show close up. However when I tap it nothing happens.
I’m going back and probably asking for a refund.
