  • Phenomenal for a kickstarter

I purchased the hardware several months ago through Kickstarter but never had a mellow dive to try it out on. Finally found a nice beach dive and broke it out. I managed to install the app minutes before the dive on a spotty data connection. Paired effortless with my phone and the app worked as designed throughout the dive.

Several things could use polish, but again I had no issues with it as a minimally viable product. First, I had issues putting the camera in the higher resolution modes (potential user error). Second, I could not switch out of the camera mode during the dive, which chewed through battery. Third (most important), the camera is disabled at 30% battery to preserve the computer. However, I really use this more as a camera than a computer. I would love to adjust this limit based on my need (from say 5%-50%).
  • Low resolution photos!!

Used it for a while everything worked but all photos are soft focus, and low resolution! On my iPhone 12pro only 4.5 mb not 36 mb the phone is capable of!!
Why!! Heat builds up in case. The case tries to accommodate Every camera! So the software is buggy and not capable of fully functioning for each phone. It overheats, so battery life will only last 2 dives.
The optics of the plastic is not optimized for each lens set so the photos are not as sharp as they should be.
No dedicated website, Korean company, did return emails but had not solution for any of my issues.
Love the concept hate the execution.
  • Love it

I purchased through Kickstarter and there was a problem with the tips that contact the phone but these were replaced by the factory before I had contacted them.

I saw a review complaining the housing was flimsy. I have no idea how they came to this determination. Compared to my SeaLife camera housing the DIVEROID housing is heavier and the DIVEROID has a double seal too not to mention I’m not restricted to one model of iOS devices. I have used this with an iPhone 7 and with the 12 mini.

Complaints? None. The dive computer functionality was perfect and easy to read, I need reading lens in my mask to see most dive computers.
