Phenomenal for a kickstarter

I purchased the hardware several months ago through Kickstarter but never had a mellow dive to try it out on. Finally found a nice beach dive and broke it out. I managed to install the app minutes before the dive on a spotty data connection. Paired effortless with my phone and the app worked as designed throughout the dive.

Several things could use polish, but again I had no issues with it as a minimally viable product. First, I had issues putting the camera in the higher resolution modes (potential user error). Second, I could not switch out of the camera mode during the dive, which chewed through battery. Third (most important), the camera is disabled at 30% battery to preserve the computer. However, I really use this more as a camera than a computer. I would love to adjust this limit based on my need (from say 5%-50%).

Low resolution photos!!

Used it for a while everything worked but all photos are soft focus, and low resolution! On my iPhone 12pro only 4.5 mb not 36 mb the phone is capable of!!
Why!! Heat builds up in case. The case tries to accommodate Every camera! So the software is buggy and not capable of fully functioning for each phone. It overheats, so battery life will only last 2 dives.
The optics of the plastic is not optimized for each lens set so the photos are not as sharp as they should be.
No dedicated website, Korean company, did return emails but had not solution for any of my issues.
Love the concept hate the execution.

Love it

I purchased through Kickstarter and there was a problem with the tips that contact the phone but these were replaced by the factory before I had contacted them.

I saw a review complaining the housing was flimsy. I have no idea how they came to this determination. Compared to my SeaLife camera housing the DIVEROID housing is heavier and the DIVEROID has a double seal too not to mention I’m not restricted to one model of iOS devices. I have used this with an iPhone 7 and with the 12 mini.

Complaints? None. The dive computer functionality was perfect and easy to read, I need reading lens in my mask to see most dive computers.

Great product and cs

I purchased Diveroid through Amazon
Very amazed by the product and its services
Recommending to buy and download

Does not appear to work

Unfortunately the app does not let you choose a housing. The screen appears however no housings are shown. Documentation is horrendous with no indication on how to do many required activities.

Update: Customer service improved

Had an issue with the mini falling off the housing. After some back and forth I was able to get an updated version at a discount. Very happy that I am now back in the water. App updates have been helpful, but still waiting on a few more features. Overall this is a great device as a backup computer and convenient camera - (photos and videos already on phone no need to transfer).

I had the same issue as Rick G in “beyond frustrated”. I noticed that the pressure changes at depth were pushing the phone into at least one of the buttons. The app stopped responding as it was registering a constant button press (recommend Diveroid update the app to notify user if it is happening). I was able to troubleshoot the problem by removing my phone case and making sure phone was secured under the ledges prior to starting the dive.. hope this helps.

Case is flimsy- app is unacceptable

Overall experience is OK.
The case lock mechanism is flimsy and can easily be unlocked underwater if you’re not too careful. The small pin that locks the case is a tad short so you can easily unlock the case with a wrong movement..

The app is useless if you don’t want to use the mini dive computer. Why? Unacceptable - especially if you lost your mini or went out of battery (which ‘someone’ at the non-existent ‘customer support’ should be contacted for replacement..)

Horrible!!! Don’t waste your money!

Horrific customer service!!! Can not use the housing or the mini because you have to register for an account. When you try to sign up, you never receive the verification email. I spent all this money on trash! Next time I’ll find a company in the US!

Too bad

What a pity. I loved DIVEROID. I do underwater photography more than 20 years. DIVEROID is handy and easy. You can take good enough photos to see in PC or mobile phone. DIVEROID was excellent choice when you don’t want to use heavy, big underwater camera. You can see all dive profile by the graph both Scuba and Free dive. I used DIVEROID about 6 months , 70 times. The APP crashed so many times during dives. My logbook often freeze. I had the loading problem so often. But I still loved DIVEROID. Most of people I couldn’t fix after re-open or re-login. When I contact DIVEROID, they replied and fixed the problem within 1day. So I was hoping they can keep update and make it better. I reall did.
Last week after I dived, it didn’t load my photos and videos. I tried to re-login but I couldn’t. I sent a mail to DIVEROID. No answer yet after 5 days. It is too bad. I am still hoping they can fix it and make it better.

Beyond frustrated

Tested case with no phone inside for first dive to 80 feet so as to not damage a phone in case the diveroid case was damaged.
The 2nd dive I used my iPhone 7 Plus and it seemed to fit okay.
After much frustration I was able to get app and software to work on my phone before the dive at home then I went on a dive with an average depth of 30 ft. I tried to take pics and no luck. I then tried to change to video no luck. No buts would work and the camera stayed on with a very out of focus view. I made several attempts to change to anything different than the blurry screen and had no luck. I spent way to much time messing with it and was unable to shut it off during the dive so I continued the dive so as not to ruin the whole dive. The battery continued to drain from 100% to 44% with no ability to turn it off over the course of a 45 minute dive. My first impression
Very unhappy with the app and lack of accessibility for assistance or at least FAQ that address the basic issues I’m having.
The 20 folks on the dive boat saw the trouble I was having with it
So far 20 thumbs down
So I hope I get some real help with this product soon as I will continue to follow up with the problems a few more times then if nothing positive happens then I non stop negative reviews should be the new campaign
