  • Been using for 25 days

I’ve been using this app for 25 days now. Sometimes it shows my location. Most of the time, it doesn’t. Now it is not showing anything on the map. No logging of location, no trace data, no COVID overlap, nothing. And I’ve imported my Google information 4 times now over the past 25 days hoping it would give me something.
I really do not see the point.

  • App is GREATLY improved since ~April 10

The maps are very easy to see and understand now. I'm very happy for this recent app update.

The app was improved for both Apple and Android (if you know anyone with an Android and they have this app, tell them to open it and look.

    Please spread the word
  • Good intentions, poor execution

I really want to like this app and use it for the greater good, but every time I go to “Check Overlap” I see a zoomed out map briefly before the app crashes. Because of these hard crashes, it’s hard to even know if my location is being logged at all. How do I know that the app is working properly?

I really appreciate the effort and will continue to allow the app to log my location, but I would also appreciate a fix to the map feature so I know the app is doing what it claims.

  • No clue

I read about this app and want to support and use it but I have no clue how it works. Its very unclear and confusing. I am sure it was rushed to get it out. Hoping future updates will make it MUCH clearer how to use it properly.
  • Bugs — not working

Sadly your app is not working at all. It does not even show my location. I have tried to reach out and there is no response. I feel defeated in my attempt to try to make this work in my local community. Disappointed.
  • Not Clear What It’s Doing

When I look at my city I see one giant purple circle. Is that a bunch of people or just me? Then around Seattle I see 4 big purple circles and 2 small darker purple circles. Then in Los Angeles (I assume) I see 3 large purple circles and 2 small dark purple circles. Am I to understand that only 12 people are using this app? If not, this doesn’t seem to be very easy to understand and if so, you need a better marketing team. Great idea though, from a trusted institute!!

  • YOU GOT THIS

The project is one of importance. This must be done. I must share and I encourage others to share to their social media’s.
  • I want to use this app BUT...

Similar to what many others have said, I really want to use this app, for myself and for the greater good. But... I mean, what even is it? I have zero clue what it is doing, the instructions/information is nonexistent, the UX/UI is completely unhelpful (check overlap? with a bunch of overwhelming red circles everywhere? and I guess theres supposed to be some green trail?)... I mean what even is this app? I downloaded it because I figured MIT was up to good things... and I am sure they are, but as it stands now I can’t see the point in this app and there is no clue given to me about any potentially hidden benefits, the vision of what it hopes be or really any context at all. I reached out and offered to help with the design and haven’t gotten any reply (I have no doubt they are busy but just let me see how I can help!). I have deleted the app once already and will likely delete again now. If they want us to participate then they really gotta do a better job telling us about what this obtuse app we are allowing to track us at all times is even doing.

  • Great idea

Appreciate this work in progress. The latest update has broken it for me unfortunately. The map to check your movements is now zoomed out and it’s very difficult to zoom in to check your visited locations if you’ve not moved too far. Previously the map was zoomed in to begin with. This latest update has not logged/does not show my movement and has somehow forgotten the previous weeks log of movement. Also there is a description box that covers half the screen and could be used to display the map instead. If it would go away once we’d read it it would give more screen real estate to map. Maybe if you guys got some funding and got an app developer to fix this app it would undoubtedly be a great help and save lives

  • Just what I wanted

What I was looking for is an app that would track my location without needing an online account and without having to have the app open. This does that. 👍🏻
If I get sick, I can send this data to someone to show where I’ve been (leading to who I may have infected) without having time remember.
