Newest update split times broken
The newest update the split time always detects first shot as .0 and is the fastest time.
Also the ballistic offset doesnt work unless the cross hairs are on center of target. You can’t move the cross hairs to the center of the target you have to adjust the camera

Wasted 5 dollars on feature that was worse
It’s impossible to know how the feature works before purchasing. I like the break one since I can choose the par time. The problem is I can’t go above 5 second par for practicing safe access. I paid for the holster draw non par one thinking I would have unlimited time to draw. This is not true. Now I don’t know which one would giving me unlimited or at least more than 5 seconds. Could pay for others and waste of money till I find one that works. They’re all basically the same feature with different names. Why not make one you can just customize they way you want? Besides I already spent $85 on the laser.

These guys are legit. Everything they put is rock solid, and Laser Academy is no different. This app is a ton of fun and way better than anything out there!
Amazing dryfire app
With all the chaos happening in this world and ammo prices being at an all time high laser academy is a breath of fresh air. It compliments the mantis X10. I like laser academy when it comes to holster draws and actually being able to see shots on the targets that you can print out on the mantis website. Although, mantis x10 is much more refined when it comes down to the logistics of pulling the trigger and how accurate you can get, laser academy is a bit easier to use and I wish both apps would have a way to be both integrated together. That’s the only reason for 4/5 stars, but so far so good. Wish I could afford the Blackbeard, but I’ll have to just use my mantis x10 on my rifles for now.

Over all Pretty Good, looking forward to updates, some issues
Used it for several hours with friends and family. Great way to introduce new shooters and teaching technique.
Using the printable targets from Maxis website was the way to go. It detects them and does a pretty good job of detecting shot placement. However, detection of the target happens after each shot and sometimes is looses one of them. The slightest change of lighting can loose it. (I.e people walking around many yards away (even away from main lighting source). Manually setting targets “remembers” where it was, but doesn’t score as nice. Shout be a way to lock the targets for while and then force detect as needed (if tripod set up gets bumped).
Pro version is insanely expensive and makes not sense as you could buy all the upgrades for cheaper (at least for now).
I could not buy any upgrades however when I tried. Not sure if that was an Apple problem or a Manis problem.

Glad to hear you enjoyed using Laser Academy! Targets are now locked once you start a drill, so you won't have the problem of them going away during the session. Currently, paying for full access is about the same as buying all PRO drills individually. But as we release more you won't have to pay for them if you already have full access. Another incredible product from Mantis
I’ve been a MantisX user for years, got one of the first Blackbeards this summer and recently participated in the beta for this app. I have used several other laser training apps/subscriptions the last few years in combination with a SIRT pistol, and was often frustrated by technical issues, software limitations, etc. My time using this app has gone flawlessly, it is the best laser training app I have used. Very quick and easy setup, reliable shot detection, drills that make sense, and recording training history are all fantastic features that set Mantis apart. I’m excited to see where they take this from here. Highly recommended for anyone serious about improving their shooting during these times of scarce ammo.
