  • Much Improved, but no Landscape??

Looks like Spytec has taken some heat over this app, so I will lead off by saying that this app is a huge improvement over its predecessor in ease of use and features. And to their credit, they seem to be continually working on this app.
Unfortunately it still has a pretty massive limitation.
So the app has a great Quick-Filters feature to quickly view recent activity in 1, 8, 12 and 24-hour chunks, change alert overlays, boundary overlays and Map styles. Awesome right?
Well the app doesn’t have landscape mode which is nearly a deal breaker for most iPad users. Now, the web interface DOES have landscape mode but it DOESN’T have the Quick Filters feature!!! Grrrr... Am I missing something here?

The differences between app functionality and web functionality is irritating/confusing enough but come on Spytec. It’s almost 2022, iOS 15, and the app is almost 2 years old.
Landscape mode please...OR include the Quick-Filters feature on the web Interface.
  • App crashes frequently

The Spytec product line works well and I’d be inclined to give a better rating, but the app constantly crashes or won’t start up (you get the “spinning clock” but are unable to login. I’ve found it can be fixed by deleting the app and reinstalling, but I’ve had to do it so many times that it becomes tedious, especially if you aren’t on WiFi at the time, or are in a high stress situation. My phone is current and this is the only app where it’s been a recurring problem. Every day or two I need to delete and reinstall. The creators reached out to me asking for additional information, but have not been able to resolve the problem. The recent update only seems to have made the problem worse!
  • Extremely limited app

I love the Spytec device and the features it provides but this app is horrible and doesn’t come even close to what it could, or should, do. One for instance, it allows you to have “boundaries” which can trigger alerts if the car goes out if the boundary. Problem is, you cannot set boundaries from the app, you have to go to the Spytec web site to set them. That’s idiotic. If I park my car at the airport and leave for 5 days, I want to be able to set up a “boundary” right from the app. Perhaps place a “pin” in the map and set the radius to 1/2 mile and Walla, you have a useful feature that is useable. As it stands now you cannot do that even though it is very doable if the app were were a hoot. It’s not, very NOT! Too bad as it reflects on Spytec and tarnishes an otherwise decent concept and hardware. Fix the stupid app PLEASE!!!!
