Surprisingly grounding!
I tend to be avoidant in considering (or rather, not considering!) my spending habits, out of a fear that I might feel badly if I look too closely. To my surprise, using Allo has had the opposite result! Instead of guilt/shame around money and spending, I have become aware of how much of my spending is actually congruent with what I value and the life I want to live. When certain spending items feel "off" or out-of-sync with my values, I can make small tweaks that feel doable and good, instead of impossible and overwhelming. Feeling at peace with finances!
I always avoid looking at my credit card statement because spending money has always felt bad, but now I feel a lot more ease- the periodic element of Allo helps me keep on top of things without avoiding for too long and having sticker shock when I login to see a statement. Values over the standard categories have changed the way I spend and think
This app has helped me tremendously. I’ve tried all the budgeting apps and while I’m not bad with money, my mindset is. I’ve been using Allo for 5 months now and my mindset has changed drastically. I’ve struggled with buyers remorse for years over the most trivial of things. Bottle of water when I’m out on a hot day- buyers remorse. Paying the water bill- buyers remorse. It wasn’t even making sense anymore. Allo has helped me understand I can spend the money I make and I don’t need to feel bad. Changes the way I think and spend money
This is not another budgeting app. I can never make those work. Too much guilt and then I avoid it. This app just helps you notice how you spend money and how it as lined up with what you value.
