Supermarket Check In User Reviews

Useful to a degree

The app could be improved in my opinion to show the time people checked in rather than just 11 hours ago. When I look at it I want to know what the real time queues are like so I can decide where I want to go or if I want to wait until a quieter time.

It is better now that more people are using it which is good.

A brilliant idea but effectively pretty useless

When my wife heard about this app from a friend, we downloaded it straight away as it sounded a brilliant idea.
Sadly, it will only become useful once people actually start feeding their data into it. Most times I go to look at one of the local supermarkets, the app gives me a queue time but, if you look closer, the last check-in was a day or even two days ago. Not much use there.
Are people using the app but not entering their data? Or are not many people using it at all? And the queues are maybe too could to reall represent accurately. We went to a supermarket recently and when we went in there was no queue or wait at all but by the time we left we could see a couple of dozen people queueing to get in. So what do I enter there - our experience or what it looks to be like now?
Maybe the overall data could be pooled to show a graph with queue length against time, so at least you could get an idea of when generally we’re the busiest times.
The app is a really great idea for these strange social distancing times but unless loads more people use it AND feedback their data, it really isn’t proving that informative.

The app works perfectly it’s a shame the users can’t use it properly

There are far too many duplicates for the same supermarkets because unfortunately users haven’t got the intelligence to use the app properly Which is unfortunately given in accurate queue times developer isn’t taking away the duplicates even after being reported several times

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback and rating. I'm working extremely hard on reducing and preventing duplicates that became an issue and hopefully I'm getting there but please do bear with me. There will be a new reporting function in the latest release hopefully on the App Store today.

Some suggestions...

1. For those of us who contribute to the success of the app by submitting data, it would be nice to exempt us from the full screen advert at the end after checking in.

2. To improve the accuracy and usefulness of the data, make it easier and more obvious to set the time of the visit- I keep forgetting, and so have to cancel and start again. Maybe ask for the time of the visit at the time of submitting the data?

3. Rather than just tell us vaguely that the last check-in was "two days ago", tell us the exact date and time so that we can adjust our visiting times if necessary.

Thanks for the suggestions Andy, I appreciate you supporting the app but adverts are there to support the running costs of the cloud platform the data is stored on unfortunately.   I am looking at changing the time/date of visit entry to make it more obvious that it's something that needs correcting before you continue but I don't want to make the process too arduous and put people of even bothering. Historic data, and also predicted queue times will be shown soon once enough historic data is available but it's not even been 2 weeks since launch yet. Hopefully during next week it should go live.

Good idea but needs improvement before it is useful

It’s a solid idea and I can’t see a reason it won’t work.. people have very little to do these days so should be able/willing to check in. But the data is very dependant on the time of day you visit the shop and the app currently doesn’t account for this. Previous weeks data could be used to predict wait times on each day and same day check ins could be given more weight so the system stays accurate.

Hi Amy, thanks for your comment and this is exactly what will happen but as the app was only launched as week there is only less than a full week's data for even the very busy stores so this is not enabled currently.

Very useful ... but needs more us using it

This was pretty accurate when used the other day, but like a previous review notes, it needs more users to up the accuracy. It’s a great idea.

I note the update which is good to identify duplicate stores ... As a user you can report a duplicate store for the App admin to review.

But it would be helpful to be able to have the duplicate store ‘greyed out’ on the phone - so it’s no longer active on a individual’s phone list while the App Admin look into it.

There also needs a way of differentiation between a number of stores in the same area that are in the same shop group.
For example a Tesco has a number of stores Tesco Extra, Tesco, & smaller Tesco locals. When these are very close together it does make it difficult to ID. Perhaps a road name or something to identify?

When opening the App it would be helpful to get a notice of any App updates.

I dislike the fact I cannot get rid of the Instagram add on the bottom of my list.

It is a great idea and has been useful so far but can be so much better 😁

A really handy app

This app as amazing as you can see all of the stores are are with in a 25 miles radius from
Your house and you can clearly see what stores are busy and what ones are not ana how long you have to wait at the stores

Great app

This is a great app and really useful in these trying times. Knowing how long the queues are at each shop makes it easier to decide where is best to go and knowing the availability of the essential items is great.
This app can even be used after this crisis we find ourselves in, especially at Christmas.

LincsShopper

Good simple App to use showing other peoples, and your own, experience shopping in stores within your area. Clearly shows current queuing times and stock availability from earlier shoppers at each store, to help you decide where to shop, and which you can easily update with your own experience when you have completed your shopping.
Data re-sets each day when new results are entered.
Obviously the more people using it the more relevant the results shown will be.
A useful tool in these trying times.

Brilliant Idea!

A great idea to look and see what queues and stocks are like at your local supermarket.
This is going to help a lot especially as more people start to use it, so that I don’t have to stand around unnecessarily waiting in queues I don’t really want to be in, only to find I get in the store and they haven’t got the essentials I needed!
