  • Great idea... only if people use it

The app is definitely a great idea. However, if people don’t use it then it’s not helpful at all. If nobody has checked in for 2 or 3 days then there is an estimated wait time which is often inaccurate.

Since the last update over a week ago all shops have a last check in of over an hour which is wrong. This new update makes the app useless and I can’t see anywhere to report it so it can be fixed.

There needs to be some adjustments to the app to be able to report issues and more information provided on previous check ins and wait times so people can have a rough idea of when queues might be long.

  • Really helpful

My three nearest supermarkets now (13 Jun 2020) have between 100 and 200 check-ins, so it has enough data to show when stocks are highest and queues shortest each day. Using this, I’ve been able to identify times to shop when there’s no queue but enough stock to keep me happy. Every time I shop (not often) I do a check-in to add to the data. Developer makes frequent improvements and updates.

  • It Keeps Getting Better!

A simply brilliant app that keeps evolving with every update. Very easy to use as well. Maybe I’m one of the lucky ones, but I have found that the data is more than accurate in my area.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for your very kind feedback.  It is certainly our intention that people use the app once they have returned to their car to make sure they do not hold up other shoppers and minimise the time they are in the supermarkets.
  • Great Idea, But Sadly Little Use

I’d echo other comments in that this was a good idea for an app, but unfortunately as it’s crowd sourced, there just isn’t enough people using it to provide reliable data. I live in London and the most recent check-in near me was 7 days ago, with some way longer than that. I’m at the point now where I think I will just delete it as it’s of little use. Ideally the best way of making this work would be to have queue data from supermarkets themselves, but I expect that could also hamper sales, so not something they may be keen on.

  • This won’t work until they get supermarkets onboard.

Great idea, but unfortunately there just isn’t enough of an active user base for this app to be useful. I suspect most users will download the app for information only, with no intention of adding data. Currently, most will probably delete the app once they discover that their local stores have not been “checked in” recently.

This app could be effective if individual supermarkets (or workers in those supermarkets) signed up to it in order to add data at regular intervals. It would help those supermarkets manage queue lengths and the experiences of their customers.

Another function to add could be a predictive function, based on asking the user if they intend to visit a particular store (and at what time) - to gauge how busy a store is expected to be at that time. When the number crunching / algorithm returns a result to the user, they can confirm whether or not they intend to proceed with their visit.

This could be a v. useful app, but unfortunately it’s only as good as the data that is added (which at the moment is not very good).

  • Fantastic idea in these difficult times

This app is brilliant, the more people adopt it the better it will become. The developer has worked really hard to get this going and is continuously improving it based on users feedback which is even more reason to use it. Thank you!
  • Could be clearer and call for less input

Maybe I’m dim, but it’s not clear to me what I’m expected to do. Is it Check-In 1) when I join the queue, then 2) when entering the store, then 3) when joining checkout queue, then 4) when leaving the store? If so, I’m not going to bother. I’d be happy in these days of C19, to do 1) and 2), but any more would interfere with the shopping and is of little interest. And the app doesn’t explain.

  • Great idea but...

Great idea but flawed as relies on crowd sourcing which is both inaccurate and depends on people having app and being bothered to upload information at the right time. As a feature improvement would suggest anything over 3 hours is automatically removed, but 5 stars for effort 👍

Another reason why the COVID-19 contact/tracing app will not work, despite everyone’s hope....

  • Like the idea

I not sure how this works
I would hope there would be about four check points
    1) Firstly when you join the que and a time stamp taken

    2) Then when you enter the store the time stamp taken again and this would give the wait time. An option to also enter a guess at the qty of other in the que would also be good
    3) You do your shopping this you could update the product available as you go around the shop. Or you could skip this.
    4) then you check in again when you join the que for the payment required selection self-service or operator.
    5) Then once more when you exit the store.

Not sure if this app does this but I think these would give many an idea of how supermarkets are coping with this.

  • Great idea but buggy

This is a great idea and I hope more people will use it (as that’s the only way the info will be useful). But I find it buggy with regard to the nearest shops to me; and on the latest version it will not let me add missing stores (goes through the process but dies nothing on submit). I know it’s free etc but…
