Reviews of Buffer

  • poor cross-platform experience

What bothers me the most is needing to switch between my phone and computer because you can write and schedule text-only drafts in the iOS app, but they’re only convenient to view on a desktop browser. The desktop has a nice and readable calendar layout, but the app doesn’t, so you can’t see what is drafted where on the calendar, and you apparently can’t sort drafts by anything other than when you made them either, so I can’t quickly check my drafts on my phone to see what posts I need to create. what’s the point of a social media planner if I can’t plan posts before they’re already made? the “ideas” feature, which is called create on desktop and content in app, isn’t useful for planning dates unless you convert it to a scheduled draft, which, again, you can’t do on desktop without uploading media. The app interface is so different from the desktop, and sometimes differently labeled, that after months of using it I still struggle to locate things.
  • an absolute headache

I’ve never once left a review on any application ever and it’s sad I have to do so here. I have to warn creators who want to actually save time on their content business and caution the headache this app has caused. I’ve spent more time going back and forth with the support team than actually creating and posting the content. Nearly every day, I’d have posts fail and not go live. Captions would be messed up. Posts that were uploaded in vertical video would end up being stretched out or condensed into a square upload. And FORGET trying to save time by uploading multiple posts at once. There’s really no other way to describe the issues I experienced with this app other than it’s ‘janky’ and not reliable. My email is filled with support tickets with these guys, and I will say they were always nice and apologetic but after experiencing problem after problem day after day, it just got frustrating.

You’d be better off and save more time by literally posting each piece of content individually to each platform than dealing with the problems this app causes. I’ve experienced it first hand.

I will say though, posting tweets that were text never gave me an issue. Scheduling tweets will work fine if that’s all you want to do, but if you’re in video, forget it and find another service.
  • Integration with Slack and Discord

Feedback: I've been greatly enjoying the simplicity and user-friendly interface of your app. It's evident that a lot of thought and effort has been poured into its development. However, I couldn’t help but notice the absence of integration with Slack and Discord which are prominent platforms in the current social digital era. Their integration could significantly enhance the collaborative and social interaction capabilities of your app, aligning it with the communication tools many have become accustomed to. Suggestion: Considering the widespread use and popularity of Slack and Discord, integrating them into your app could provide a more seamless and enriched user experience. This integration could facilitate real-time conversations, file sharing, and overall better coordination among users. Moreover, it could potentially broaden the user base by attracting communities already established on these platforms. Question: Is there any plan in the near future to incorporate Slack and Discord integrations into your app? This feature could be a game changer in promoting a collaborative environment and ensuring the app stays relevant and competitive in the market.
