  • This app deserves more attention

This works for me. The concept is to enter a reason (which gets evaluated by AI) and set a timer before you can access a blocked app. I usually find myself not having a good enough reason (for myself, not the app) and just doing something more productive instead. It forces me to reflect on what I actually want to be doing, and not just automatically scroll to avoid boredom. Other app blockers I find too easy to mindlessly override or I have to set up a schedule, which I dislike. This app gets my present-self to regulate my behaviour, not my past-self. That guy can get bent. The app is not perfect, but it’s better than anything else I’ve tried. It’s expensive, and I don’t use a lot of the features, but after putting it off and trying to replicate the same effect with other apps for a few weeks, I pulled the trigger and paid for the year and honestly thing it’s worth it to me. Worth a try, I’d say.

  • Missing when it was Actuflow

Seems like the free version provides no real features now (aside from 2 “emergency minutes”) which is a bummer. I really loved using this when it was Actuflow (downloaded in 2020), it was super simple and worked! Many thanks to the devs for those years ❤️
Unfortunately my phone must’ve removed my download of the old version, so I had to get the newest version that requires a subscription to use the reason/intent function at all :( If a pared down free version ever comes back, I’d love to use it again!

Dear Megan, thank you for your feedback 💚 Please reach out to us via natalie@taskfulness.com - we have a special program for past users. It will grant you free access to the updated app. People who tried both old and new version, said that Taskfulness is just as intuitive as in the old days, but more powerful and pleasant by design now 😉
  • Great in theory

The concept is really good and I can see it working perfectly but you need to pay to use it at all. Theres isn’t really a free version with extra benefits when you pay, you can do one task and then it requires the subscription to set anymore which is the whole point of the app!
  • Feedback

[UPDATE]: the app appears to have been updated in-place entirely to be a new subscription only app now (previously purchased features were effectively no longer usable, as it had effectively became a new app). The dev is responsive and offered a code for trying the new app for a limited time, though I realized since there effective isn’t any base features that can be used anymore without subs and I ran into a few finicky bugs that I couldn’t solve, i think it wouldn’t suit my needs now. However, thank you for the help from before!

    (Review for old app “actuflow”):
Hello! I really enjoy using this app. I didn’t find a feedback form for this app so hope you don’t mind but, I thought being able to reorder the intention/tag rows by sliding them around would be amazing - currently I would have to recreate the intention and tags if I needed to reorder them, and sometimes when I deleted a row, it would randomly reorder all the rows. Thank you!

Thank you for your honest feedback🌟 We currently uploaded the Version 4.4, where there is a survey button for exactly the purpose of leaving the great suggestions like you did. We will take a look to moving intention tags and see how we can improve it🙂 Sincerely, Actuflow team
  • A true standing ovation!

I am truly impacted positively by this app. It helps me be more intentional about my habits and develop healthier patterns with my phone use. Also, I appreciate taking time to think about why I’m
wanting to use my phone and am able to model healthier strategies for navigating social media. I recommend this app to everyone!

  • Buggy

I want to try it. But it’s very buggy. Freezes on screen time app selections. Keyboard won’t go away on AI screen so I can press the start button.

Hi Sportdue55, Thank you for reporting this! We have noticed a similar issue on certain iOS versions and are preparing a fix that will go out this week with Taskfulness 7.2.0. Apologies for the inconvenience and hope you will give Taskfulness another try once we release the fix. Best regards, Natalie

  • Can’t get through the setup

Can’t even get through the setup because the text exceeds the size of my phone (even when I reset it to a much smaller size) and I’m unable to progress through to the next screen because the button at the bottom isn’t visible.

Hi, SuzyQ73 Here is Natalie, the founder of Taskfulness 💚 Unfortunately, this mistake happens when your display is zoomed in. Please try going to Settings - Display&Brightness - Display Zoom - Default - Done. Sorry again, and please consider changing the vote if it works🙏 Best regards, Natalie Tsiapalo natalie@taskfulness.com (feel free to write me any time)
  • Nice, simple and effective

This is a great app and definitely motivates me during my phases of extreme procrastination. I would say that that notifications are too frequent.

The simplicity is welcome but an extra valuable
feature would be to create a future task list ahead of time and then select them when you’re ready to complete it.

    Developer Response

Hi Amosricardossss, Thanks for the feedback! The notifications can be switched to once per 15min or off completely from the app's "Preferences" -> "Customise notifications" -> "What are you doing now?" page. We are also switching it to 15min by default in the next version and will ship more a granular setting for when it should be shown. And we are adding the idea about the future task list into our roadmap for 2024. Stay tuned and let us know if you have more suggestions! Best regards, Natalie Tsiapalo
