Excellent App
I lived in Wellington for two yrs and when I came to Christchurch I realized how wonderful this app is. For metro card I top up Friday night and even by Monday evening the amount is showing as pending. I really appreciate the developers of the Snapper app and Designers for thinking of the user experience. 🫡 Had to face bad experiences to realize how excellent app we have in Wellington.

Can’t scan>register card in app
I have an older iPhone which can’t seem to scan the card, therefore this app is useless.
Log in issue
Try to scan the card, unsuccessful every time. Is there any way to log in the card instead hold the card an under the phone camera ? Thanks

Pretty robust just works! and always works.
Does the fundamental job of scanning, top ups, shows good travel information and does the job super quick.
All you need in an app and doesn’t try to do many things poorly but the fundamentals/essentials well. Great UI!

Snapper card
Very easy to use. Easy to upload and update your balance. You can see what trips you took and the team are very helpful, knowledgeable if you need to contact for queries and quick at amendments on your account when needed.
I really love this app
Being able to top up my Snapper at home has made my life so much easier. There’s one place to top up in person in my town and it’s no where near the bus stop so this has been a total game changer for convenience. Also it works perfectly every time. Every time I use it I marvel at how much I love this app.

Could be better
It is convenient to be able to top up and check the balance of my snapper card, when in the old days you had to physically visit a snapper shop. But why do we even need a physical plastic card, get rid of it. You can do contactless payment NFC from every phone, why do you need to lug a lump of physical plastic for snapper. All the technology in the card is redundant, the phone already has that. Get up with the play, if you don't, snapper will be consigned to the dustbin of history.

App with lots of bugs
I tried to top up my snapper card using the app and it kept on having issues, and interactions with buttons felt delayed, sometimes the loading icon would appear and overlap on the button text. The app would timeout after a while and log me out of my account which I’ve had to log back in multiple times. After a while it wouldn’t even let me log in saying that either my email or password was incorrect (which was confusing since I used whichever log in I had saved on my keychain). Then I tried to reset my password, which I tried three times and still have not received a password reset email. I then gave up and tried calling the customer service number. I was hung up on the first time before the call even went through, and the second time waited a long while before giving up.
Really disappointing since it is not the first time I have had issues with the app. Unsure if it’s technical mishaps in the background but very frustrating since it’s the main way to top up my bus card. I appreciate the detail put in some of the UI elements, but it is really overshadowed by the slow and frustrating functionality.

Lost 4$ by canceling payment
I topped up 4$ once time but It took so long to work(a few minutes) so I canceled it while it was loading, but instead of getting my money back. I lost all of 4$ and my snapper didn't get topped up any dollars. I tried to top up 20$ after that in the next week and it worked but I still lost 4$. I just sent my problem through customer support. I will rate this app again if I get my money back or that 4$ back or if it is used right with its value
