Unbelievably bad will not pair with box no matter what
Not as bad as the box.
It’s a bit hard to do a fair review of the app when the thing it’s made to control isn’t working properly as well.
Fails to Connect to Box
Firstly, my box is on. Secondly, this App is supposed to let you send requests to record programs, so how can you do this remotely if you have to be connected to the same network???

It initially starts off ok, then playback of recordings starts stuttering until they’re unwatchable. This happens both when streaming them from the box, and when they’re downloaded onto your device.
I contacted support in 2023 and they said an update was coming later that year to address the problem, no change for me so far in 2024.

Shockingly poor app.
IF the app loads the TV guide an immediate problem is identified through the close button being the same colour as the programme you are viewing in app.
The hardware is outstanding. The software is wholly inadequate

What a transformation!
As for the hardware, I still can't fathom the power logic or LED colours. It takes at least two separate presses of the ON button to bring it to life, whether or not it's in a deep sleep. There are other issues with the hardware too, notably random power ons that wake the TV. I'm much happier with the system now that the app works, however, and wouldn't discourage anyone from buying. Having said that, I'd still choose the Manhattan box instead, if I didn't want an app - I bought one and set it up for my father, and am impressed.
