Reviews of Zotero

  • Feature requests

I use zotero daily, couldn’t work without it.

Two feature requests, 1) make use of the pencil pro new squeeze feature so we can select different options like pen and highlight quickly. 2) have an option to save annotations directly to pdf so I can use a different reader on my Mac

If these were added it would be 5 stars easily.
  • Nice app but could we have better note taking tools?

I love this app for managing papers, however I like to write notes with formulas and illustrations to help me explain things in the paper, and the current "sticky note" only allows pure texts. Is it possible to add something like a sticky note where I can draw stuff and write formulas with Apple Pencil? Or at least can I add a pdf page or rotate the pages to the files? Thanks so much for developing this amazing tool!
  • A great start, but not yet standalone

If you hoped this would let you research remotely, free from a traditional desktop computer, you will be disappointed. Zotero Mobile does not yet support essential features like snapshotting webpages, colored tags (the only suggested way to maintain to-read/have-read/in-progress statuses), and many others.

This suffices only to reference already-saved research and to read a small subset of it (PDFs only, currently) on the go. Expect to use the desktop app for any real work.
