We can often find it difficult to be active for at least 30 mins a day or 150 minutes a week, whether we are too busy with work or home or both, perhaps we don’t feel confident or have the time to get active. But being active regularly is one of the most effective ways of getting and staying healthy! If this sounds like you, believe us, you’re not the only one. But you don’t have to do your 30 minutes all in one go. The good news is, we have a new approach to help you get more active more often, it’s called Snacktivity. Snacktivity is an approach to sitting less and moving more. It's far easier than you may think, and we are going to show you how simple it is to get started. Snacktivity is about including small bouts of physical activity into your whole day, which we’re calling “Activity Snacks”. Activity Snacks should last 2-5 minutes and get your heart beating faster and breathing a little harder. Activities like parking further away, getting off the bus a stop early, taking the stairs or calf raises whilst waiting for the kettle to boil. So, introducing SnackApp to work with your physical activity tracker (Fitbit Versa Lite) to help nudge you to be more active. You'll be able to track your progress, set goals, plan your activity snacks into your day, get inspiration for what activity snacks you can do at home or at work, learn more about why being physically active is good for you and talk to others who are involved in Snacktivity.
