Canvas Lite for Homeowners is the only 3D scanning app designed for homeowners working remotely with home improvement professionals. Simply scan a room, upload your scan, and a complete set of 3D measurements will be sent to your professional, in the format they use every day. You will need a code from your professional to ensure your scan is sent to them. If you are a professional looking to use Canvas and have a LiDAR-enabled iPad or iPhone, we strongly recommend using our other app for professionals, Canvas: LiDAR 3D Measurements. If you don't have a LiDAR-enabled iPad or iPhone, you may also use this app to test out the experience, but LiDAR will make scanning 5x more accurate. Canvas Lite for Homeowners requires an iPhone 8 or above and delivers the best scan quality and accuracy with the LiDAR-enabled iPhone Pro/Pro Max (12 and newer).

  • Phenomenal app! Time saving! money saving! totally helpful

    I use this app as an interior designer with homeowners who need to send me measurements of their space before I design them. I get wonderful support from the staff at campus. They always answer my emails personally, and fairly quickly. The only reason there are negative reviews is probably because the user didn’t know how to scan properly or use the app. Don’t let those reviews discourage you. I’ve used it over and over and it’s crazy good! I take these three dimensional drawings and import them into SketchUp and do 3-D renderings of their spaces. The saves me a ton of time and practically like I have another employee.

  • Absolutely worthless on iPhone 12 Pro Max

    Never could get the app to scan. First, at least in this model iPhone, it forces you into rotating your phone into landscape orientation when you try to do a scan which greatly reduces its angle of view (the tutorial and media all show holding the phone in portrait, i.e normal, orientation). Second, I tried large/med/small rooms with excellent lighting. Both empty and full of furniture. At no point did the app get past the spinning dots around the “hold still” initialization portion of the 360 scan module. For S&Gs, I even mounted my phone to a tripod..can’t get more still than that! No dice. I find it asinine that they didn’t properly QC this app for one of the most popular (read: prolific) iPhone models out there.

    We'd love to troubleshoot your issues, as there are several things that we haven't heard before - such as forcing you to scan in landscape orientation or the app crashing during the 360 scan initialization phase. Please reach out to us at support@canvas.io and reference this review, along with the iOS version you're on, so that we can troubleshoot this for you. We certainly want to address this and understand what's happening.
