Just a quick performance update, after our recent launch of Notify & Fly! Since we released our crowdsourcing data initiative last year, we've received thousands of submissions from government agencies, but mostly it was fellow pilots sharing where they were going to be operating. With today's release of Notify & Fly, that functionality is more powerful and real-time with dynamic map layers. Now all users -- recreational, commercial, and government / first responders -- can share your flight activity bringing new levels of safety and situational airspace to fellow pilots and airspace stakeholders. Just tap the new "N&F" button to securely and anonymously share where you'll be flying and we'll create an active flight volume that's immediately accessible for all users to see. For more, read about the release of Notify & Fly on the Aloft blog -- https://www.aloft.ai/blog/aloft-launches-notify-fly-on-b4ufly/ Your feedback and questions are always welcome at b4ufly@aloft.ai.

Reviews of B4UFLY Drone Airspace Safety

  • Wish they would put more info on where not to fly

I wish this app would let recreational drone pilots know where they can and can’t fly. I love taking nature pictures with my drone like the leaves changing and stuff but the drone pilots who don’t use this app would give the rest of us a bad name I’m afraid
  • Needs work

I recently got myself a drone so I have been trying to educate myself as much as possible on the safe operation of a UAV. The FAA website directed me to download this app. As a novice, I don't have complaints about the capabilities of this app. What I do notice immediately is the clunkiness of the app. Working in software myself, this app has strong vibes of being made by people not familiar with mobile app development. The map constantly gets stuck, then starts to stutter, and eventually I have to force quit the app. I'm sure I'll get used to its quirks, but I do have higher expectations of apps.
  • Use every time you fly.

Super helpful for checking advisories in the area as well as creating public "Notify and Fly" alerts for other sUAS pilots to be aware of.

I only wish more folks would make use of those, or a standard developed for public facing alerts (in addition to LAANC).

It would be super helpful if I could get a notification if someone else files an alert while I'm in the air. They should be able to see mine but I'd like to be aware of theirs, too. Bonus points if it can integrate with my DJI account and pop onto my control display.
