Charging for features that the original included

I have had and used this app for years. It updated and now features that have grown accustomed to using for FREE are now requiring me to SUBSCRIBE WITH AN annual fee for every individual feature. For example. Batch editing. So frustrating! And so disappointed that am app I purchased and owned updated with features that were free that have to be purchased additionally in order to utilize.

Updating my reply here - as of version 1.5.0, PicTapGo Classic users also get batch processing and unlimited recipes for free, so it's literally all the stuff you had in PicTapGo Classic, without paying a cent more. Would love an updated review. Thanks! My original reply follows... Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. PicTapGo+ is a NEW app, with many additional features available for a small subscription fee. Our team worked very hard to make sure that Classic users could still access all of the same features for FREE in this app. PicTapGo Classic remains available to any user who purchased it and you are absolutely welcome to use that app. However, for folks who want all the features of PicTapGo Classic, plus 75+ more filters, RGB Curves and Levels, Shadow and Highlight tools, Vignettes, expanded filter controls and free updates, there is now a small subscription cost. This is to allow us to support our small business and to continue to improve the app for our wonderful PicTapGo community.

Subscription Based

I got so exited to see there was a new app, I have used the old one to edit all my phone photos for the last six years or so. Once downloading it I see that all the new things are subscription based. It makes me so sad and frustrated that any of the extras are only subscription based. In addition only a few of my recipes transferred. So Iโ€™ll go back to the old one until it stops working, I suppose.

I would like to add I would be more then happy to pay for the app to start with and pay for the additional add ons. My disappointment comes because I canโ€™t do a monthly subscription for the unlimited future.

Update I didnโ€™t think I needed

PicTapGo has been my all time favorite photo editing app for years; I loved it so much that I was skeptical of any need for improvement.

First off, I was appreciative of the fact that I was able to import my existing recipes. Next, my only gripe with the old app was that it could be slow to navigate between albums when selecting a photo to edit, but there were no performance issues here! I also really love the ability to adjust the levels on a photo; it really makes a difference. Then, I discovered the feature I have been waiting for; when you apply a recipe you can see all the filters that were applied and tweak them individually. I was officially sold on the new version ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Obviously the new version steers you towards a subscription. If almost any other free app I use went from free to freemium I would be cranky about it. However, I honestly feel like $20 annually is completely fair for this app so Iโ€™m willing to support a company Iโ€™ve been a fan of for so many years.

Wow! Thanks for your kind words. It means a ton to our small business that you took the time to leave a review. Thank you!

Annual subscription

Never go to annual subscription. pay once and get lifetime license. Personally I will not switch to this payment model never, after I spent money on full access to get pictapgo original. Thereโ€™s nothing new on, all the same features.

Disappointed in Subscription

Iโ€™ve been a long-time user of PTG and while I do like the new UI, the ability to only use the new filters through the subscription option is very disappointing. You should consider offering your users the OPTION to purchase filter packs as a separate bundles OR in a subscription as the app A Color Story does. I would much rather pay $2.99-$4.99 for a filter pack rather than pay a monthly or yearly subscription. Subscriptions are a real turn-off.

My go-to photo editing app

Iโ€™ve been using PicTapGo since 2013, and I was pretty happy with the classic version. To be honest, I didnโ€™t think I was going to convert over. However, all the upgrades with this new version are amazing! The ability to tweak each filter/adjustment after applying a recipe and the addition of curves and levels are definite game changers. In addition to the user friendliness, filters, and batch editing, I ended up signing up for the full subscription. Iโ€™m the main memory keeper for my family, and this app lets me edit the over 1200 pictures/year that goes into each annual family yearbook. This app is one of the only reasons Iโ€™m able to keep up bec Iโ€™m able to edit while on the go. Not having to be tied to my computer is worth the $2/month to spend more time with my family (and take more pictures).

Reading this made my whole afternoon โ˜บ๏ธ - Doug (the guy who made the app)

No Save in Place

I canโ€™t believe this app doesnโ€™t support the ability to modify the photo in place.

Update:

Thank you for the response. Most apps make that type of choice and stick with it. Super excited that it is on the roadmap.

Really easy to use powerful tools

Love the new update - Itโ€™s a huge upgrade from previous version and one of my go to apps now.

Superb redesign, fantastic expansion

I used the original PicTapGo for most of my phone photo-editing since 2013. When I heard a major upgrade was in the works, I was just not sure how that would go. I apologize for my skepticism. I've loved PicTapGo+ from the first few minutes of use. The new filters and adjustment features are wonderful. I spent a lot of time building custom recipes in the old version. With these filters, I'm usually happy with one m. I'll be using the new app to edit images for holiday graphic design work.
