Troop Transport from Old World

Amazing game! I have one issue - when I am trying to transport my troops from old world (playing as dutch) I am having an issue moving them. I have a navy outside and I did create an army. It’s just landlocked. Now I’m in trouble because I’m losing money each turn as my regulars stay put in Amsterdam. Any tips?

Love the game but

I feel like this game is the best change in the UI which I think should be universal between the different games. Only issue with playing your other games is finding controls and remembering them so making them universal would be great. I also think the tutorial should take you to a game to demonstrate how to use certain mechanics because it’s more difficult to understand when you have to flip back in games if you miss a piece of directions.

On to things I love about the game like the ability to destroy villages or settlements which gives player power to wipe out a tribe or European country that has been giving you a hard time and I enjoy that destroy unaligned tribes has effects for example if they were Pohawtan then they would be upset or got to war which is a good element. I also love the pacing which makes you not want to expand too quickly making a realistic type strategy.

But I do really enjoy the game and I hope something like the American Revolutionary War comes out!

Hi Thanks for your review. Yes sorry I am so busy I cannot standardise the mechanic and this will happen also in the next game. I am trying to improve the mechanics on each game. I still need to get to the American Revolutionary War, sorry. John.

awesome game

Response from developer

H, thanks for your review. Have you played ColoniesAtWar? War in Europe? I am in the middle of the next game called World at War.

Great but it would be cool to see more In the future

Honestly, this is my favorite game you’ve made so far. I would love for you to keep adding new improvements to the game. Such as, new scenarios, extended map, more units, better diplomacy, and a way to fight in Europe. Anyway, hope you are doing well, and thank you for making such an awesome game!

Great Game

I first found out about this game because of Colonies at War. I loved that game I beat every campaign from easy to hard and I wanted to try out this game. At first i had trouble adjusting to the mechanics, but then I figured it out. I still haven’t beat a single campaign even out the easiest difficultly, but I still love this game regardless. I would definitely recommend this game to other people that love strategic war games.

Hi, thanks for your review, thanks for playing my games. FIW is different and you have a bit to learn and master. I am sorry for it being so hard but it adds to the challenge. Once you get the hang of it you will start winning regularly. When this game first came out it was really hard and I made lots of adjustments to tone it down. But I need to make the Easy level easier . Thanks for playing. John

One thing

How to transfer troop from Europe to America?

Response from developer

There is a tutorial on how to move troops across the sea. You should create an army to move. Then You need ships stationed offshore at the drop off location to be able to make the move. There is also common questions on the website. You should read these first. John

I like the game but

I like the game and it’s structure but I had to delete because whenever I tried to create an army on the Quebec campaign the game always crashed.

Response from developer

Hi, sorry, I have never heard of this happening. You should email me so I can step through with you how this happened. John

This game is awesome but I have some suggestions

I love this game so much and I never get bored playing it but I think you should add a few things. Maybe you could do a bit more on the fur trade because that was a really big thing at the time so you could maybe add a bunch of nations in the Hudson Bay Area and they could have a big fight. I also noticed that lots of the generals are pictures from the last of the mohicans movie. You also spelt siege wrong in a few places to you should correct that. Maybe you could add a bit more generals if possible. There’s pretty much nothing to complain about in this game so thank you!

Hi, Thanks for your review, Yes, my spelling isn't the best. I have 120 leaders in the game and I don't want any more, I do hope to do the revolution at some point in the future, but I already have a lot on my plate. Thanks again. and for your rating. John

PC Port?

Love the game, think it’s great to kill a few hours with every now and then. It’s also really cool as a history nerd whose first job was at Fort Ontario (Oswego NY) to see Fort Oswego represented in game. That got a good smile out of me the first time I played. As a thought to the dev, I think a PC port of this game (as well as your others) would be really cool. Maybe $5 or $10 on Steam.
