  • Worst app

After 2 mos of the app just stopped! Trying to reconnect to to Bluetooth is impossible! No support or help to me found! I give you a zero rating!
  • Soundsend and this app replaced my $3000 denon AVR

The soundsend and this app give me the audio I/o horse power to replace the biggest eyesore in my home theater. The giant black box known as a Denon AVR. I invested over $10k in gear and wire to simply go from HDMI to a surround sound system capable of decoding Dolby Atmos. The Soundsend can do that to any WiSA certified speakers at the retail cost of $199. It connects to your TV via eARC/ARC. The soundsend transmits uncompressed audio. Perfectly lossless from transmitter to receiver. To my ears, my speakers sound BETTER using WiSA technology than using expensive cables.

My denon could decode Dolby Atmos into 7.2.6. The soundsend can decode 5.1.2. While this my look like an issue, it doesn’t sound like one to me. Currently I have a simple 5.2.2 setup and I’m much happier with it than the cacophony of speakers and wires that was my previous setup. With the soundsend, I am able to “stack” receiving speakers. I was able to connect 22 individual receivers and stack the speakers according to their placement. I can have up ten height speakers if I wanted. Or 10 subwoofers. You can build a massive system, all wireless. We just need more speaker options….

If you’re watching content that is encoded in Dolby Atmos and you select “Direct” on Audio Mode under Audio Settings, you will be listening to the mix the way it was created by the audio engineers. If you select “Movie” the soundsend will use DSP to adjust the mix and I think it does an amazing job. Especially on content that wasn’t mixed in Atmos like all TV or movies that have lackluster sound…it can really make a pleasant difference! Some movies like Avatar 2 you want to watch in “Direct” mode because the atmos mix is impeccable and sounds super duper amazing on this system. Platin Audio speakers are a great way to start building a WiSA system. Hopefully more speakers companies start to build WiSA certified speakers!
