  • Should be a 5-star app

I’ve been using dimensional since the beginning and have loved every moment of it. It’s sincerely the best of its kind, both in accuracy/insights of assessments, as well as access to full explanations of every different area of assessment for the user’s understanding. Mostly, anyway.

That’s where this app kinda broke my heart a little bit. I mean I knew it wouldn’t remain 100% free forever, but $60/year? It would be one thing if there were perhaps even a monthly option, if not a free trial, to first check it out and get a feel for whether or not it’s worth such a price tag. $60 is just so far out of most people’s comfort zones though; I feel like if it were bumped down to $30 or even $40 it wouldn’t be so bad.

So yeah, I really do love this app so much and would love to check out the plus version, but I absolutely could not justify throwing a $60 annual fee into the abyss and hoping it’s worth it. Please fix this 🫶🏻
  • Can’t be bothered to pay for Plus at this price

I love this app and the entire concept of it; everyone else has expressed that enough. But there is nothing that would make me pay $60 annually for Plus. In fact, I don’t know anyone irl or online who is willing to pay THAT much more for more features, no matter what those features are. I didn’t even hesitate to skip past the new Plus “Coping Styles” assessment, I can just find that out online if I want to. The unique thing about Dimensional is not the insight it provides, but the format of the information, the sleek way it’s presented like a library, and the connection feature between others. It’s a bummer that I can’t have something like coping styles on my profile, but that doesn’t mean I can’t find that out myself. If Plus was much, MUCH more affordable, and maybe charged a flat fee instead of a subscription (or at least a shorter subscription cycle or free trial, come on!), maybe I would consider it. But the way it is now, I have 0.000% likelihood of subscribing. Not a THING wrong with this awesome app other than that.
  • More than I expected

This app has so much information packed into it, I have the free version and truly can’t believe they would give out this much for free. I would love to get the premium version, but it’s outside of my app spend comfort zone. The app itself is modern, sleek, attractive, and easy to use. It is so layered, every icon is a button that leads to another page, and another page, and another. It feels bottomless, and it’s addicting. I love that you can connect and share with friends, I don’t have many friends who would enjoy this app though and I think it would be fun to connect with other app users, and maybe have a community chat page. I’d also love updated or additional tests/assessments. I finished them all in record speed and continue to check back in on the app, but less and less as there’s not much incentive to return. Even with the couple of things I mentioned, it’s still an amazing app!
  • Some of the new updates

So I downloaded this app a little while ago after some work friends suggested it to me, and I have recommended it to MANY people since then. It is amazing to get to know yourself so well and learn more about your friends as well as compare these traits. One thing I did not expect was dimensional plus… I feel as though the amount of money you have to pay a year to see some of your scores is a little too much, this also wasn’t a thing when I first downloaded the app. I know an app like this needs to be able to make money, but $60/year seems ridiculous and over the top to only be able to view a few of your scores. This is the only thing that brings my rating down, other than my personal view on this it is an amazing app and a lot of fun, and I’m so glad they’re more quizzes I can do now.
  • I found my ikigai!

I’ve been reading “how to ikigai” by Tim Tamashiro. After taking all the personality tests, Dimensional has these cute stories that summarizes things about you based on your answers. One of the stories is called “Your calling in life”, and it was spot on about my ikigai. I was having trouble finding the words to describe it myself. Thank you Dimensional! Also the app is just interesting overall. Big fan of the daily prompts that help you reflect and learn something about yourself.

edit 5/16 - In the last two weeks I have updated this app numerous times because the developers REFUSE to let you use the app without updating EVERY SINGLE VERSION. I had to update again today. The next time I open this app and it demands that I update it or I will not be able to use it, that will be the day I delete it. I should NOT have to update the app EVERY SINGLE TIME you come out with a new version! It’s ridiculous! I have suggested this app to so many people and even link it from my other social apps. I will not hesitate to delete the app and all mention of it I have posted elsewhere! I’ve about had it. No other app does this. Or if they do, it’s very sparingly for new features that REQUIRE an update. 😡

I really enjoy this app and the detailed information it provides. But you have to stop *forcing* people to update the app every single time you come out with a new version. It’s to excessive. I should be able to use the app without updating every single version. I can understand if an excessive amount of time goes by and there are features that the app needs to function correctly, but —every single version— is to much.

    Developer Response

Hi there! Sorry for the frustrating experience. Sounds like we could do a better job of communicating updates to users. In the vast majority of cases, you don't actually have to update the app. You can close the modal and continue using the app. But the UX might be confusing. When we make big updates like new content or assessments, you need the latest version of the app to get them but the app usually works without an update. We send those modals as gentle reminders. Thank you for recommending it to your friends. We'll see about improving the UX :)
  • All-encompassing with a rare bug?

I find that the assessments and results are quite impressive with utilizing all the various types of personality assessments, and it is nice seeing the scores and how you compare with others for each aspect. One interesting quirk I recently noticed was for my career archetype, it says that I scored the highest in Artistic and Conventional traits which would correlate to the Architect Archetype; but my archetype ended up being the Apprentice. I am not sure if this is supposed to be a bug, but it was just interesting to see the results when the components would suggest a completely different archetype.

I still recommend this app nevertheless as I especially appreciate the enumeration the assessments provide for your determined personality traits.
  • Comprehensive personality test with a few irritating bugs.

Probably one of my most favorite personality apps. Quizzes seem to be comprehensive and based around some from more well known personality tests. Love the design, but the functionality leaves much to be desired.

For some reason I am having trouble seeing my results for "Primary Nature", "Interested in" and "Top Strengths" under the summary portion of my profile despite taking all the test. When I tap on them it says "Content is recomputed once a week. Come back soon!" Additionally the same message appears when I tap on the last 3 "stories" titled "You want a partner who", Your greatest strength", and "Your most toxic traits".

As for functionality, it would be nice to sort elements, patterns, and archetypes by rarity.
  • Love the concept and implementation! Please fix some bugs and it's a five star

    There are two main bugs.

    1. Sometimes near the end of a test, the test will suddenly end earlier, acting as if has my results, but will put an error screen instead. I will then have to re-enter the test through the homescreen. It will happen sometimes multiple times in one test.

    2. Problems with connecting and accepting friend requests from other people. Originally I did not have much problem connecting with other people but after a few days using the app suddenly it will not let me connect with anybody or accept requests. Whenever I press the button to connect or accept, it will just load without doing anything. A major problem since I would consider the main usage for this app to compare your results with your friends.
  • Incredible User Experience

I never write reviews, but this app deserves it! I downloaded it because of TikTok and very pleasantly surprised by the amazing user experience. It’s not your typical buzzfeed and Mari test, there are so many brilliant features and I want the product designers to know that they are doing a great job!
