Over priced, scammy subscription. Fake stars

I tried this app at the recommendation of another sailor friend. This app lasted all but about 60 seconds on my phone after opening it. If you actually take the time to look at the written reviews, they are all one star. Company must be farming for paid 5 stars out of some app review shop in East Asia. You’ll be shocked to find an actual written review with something more than two stars.

Immediate upsell to premium at $9.99… a WEEK!! That’s nearly $520 a year. And if you switch apps for a minute, it recognizes you’ve abandoned their upsell and offers you a promotion of 50% off at $6.99. Last time I checked 50% off of $9.99 did not equal $6.99. Regardless even if you did get it at seven dollars a week, that’s still $365 a year!!! This app must pray on people who take the three day trial and then forget about it. The didn’t even stand my phone long enough to find out if any of the features were useful. Pay an annual fee to the weather channel for premium weather on their app and I think it’s $40 for the year!

SERIOUSLY

You have got to be kidding me. They are seriously charging 9.99 a week I wouldn’t pay. 9.99 a year. Let alone a week. I get the weather Channel for free I get adds too. But still see what I need too. And y’all be charging 9.99 a week?!! Get out and then it said come back for 50% off. That’s still basically 5$ a week that’s 260$ a year throw. Away for something that should be at very minimum free with ads like TWC. But yall can have that. Must be a bunch of rich folk paying for that. Not me. And I guarantee yall ain’t no better than TWC. A week like full price of 520$ a year. Just thrown away.

Was useful at one point …horrible now

This used to be pretty good and I actually purchased it a few years back. But now it’s full of glitches and slow to load. It’s not always correct and even if you’ve purchased the up-to-date version, it continually asked you to purchase again.

Even the worst weather app is now better than this, which is unfortunate. The old app used to be great. I guess the developers are interested in grabbing people that think it’s good maybe based on old reviews. Get any other app because this one is a waste of time.

Phone ID Hacked -No App Support

My phone was hacked and I no longer have access to my user ID, therefore I have no access to my Premier Subscription of the NOAA app. I’ve tried to contact the company in order to regain access but there is no way possible that I can find.

Please help. I rely upon the app, I’ve paid for it, I’d like to use my subscription.

It seems as though once a person has subscribed and submitted their payment, there is no further support. I’d hate to believe that’s what this app does since I’ve subscribed for so long but if there is help, it isn’t evident so my money is paying for nothing at this time.

Should be MUCH BETTER.

6$/ week x 48 weeks in a year = $288!!!!!
WHAT A JOKE! Even if it worked the way it should that’s just crazy!
For an insane $6/week price tag this app either does not update settings (as basic as changing map settings) or has a very long delay. Very glitchy in all. Definitely canceling after free trial.
It would be good if all features actually worked they way they should, but with the radar competition these bugs should already be fixed, especially for how much they ask for people to pay.
Must be a scam.

Gone downhill

I originally subscribed to the NOAA Weather App when it was free. It was always easy to use intuitive and very accurate. A few years ago they begin charging $3.99 for a monthly membership. Knowing it was worth every penny, I subscribed. Well yesterday, my NOAA weather app would only open to a black screen. Tried multiple troubleshooting measures and nothing worked. Ultimately, I deleted the app and reloaded it from the App Store. Now, it wants me to pay $5.99 per week, and my screen has advertisements on it. And Message said I could pay the 599 per week and not get messages. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE $3.99 I PAID 3 WEEKS AGO? There is a selection I could pick titled “restore my account,“ but when you push it, absolutely nothing happens. Regarding the technical performance of this new app, it will only show me the weather patterns in the last four hours. I can’t see 30 minutes from now what the projections are going to be – I guess unless I pay the $5.99 per week. This is very very disappointing, insulting, and extortion.

Free - But

Yes it’s free, but only if you don’t mind being constantly harassed to get a subscription.
Deleting app.

Not worth the cost

The advertising and concept makes this seem like a robust weather monitoring and notification platform, but it is unfortunately not that at all. A lot of people have left reviews about the cost and why it’s too high. I’ll just say this, there are multiple apps for much less cost than this that deliver more.

The app has very basic alert options and didn’t come close to what I expected for the cost and advertising.

I’m an employer that needs to monitor heat and smoke for my workers to meet state compliance.
- I want notifications for specific temperature ranges when they occurs BUT Not an option with this app.
- I was wanting to get active AQI updates during wildfire smoke events And once again not an option.

Not to be cruel, but I honestly thought this was a scam app after a few minutes of exploring the capabilities. I’ll explain

There are many aspects about the functionality that seem to be broken, glitchy or underdeveloped.
- The top banner that shows the temp forecast is chopped off and the high and low for the day aren’t even fully visible
- when I select fire/ smoke there is nothing that shows up on the map to show smoke
- the wind option only changes color where most every other app also shows wind direction on the various area of the map.
-temperature is also just a various color map, not points of temperature for reference.

I could go on, but I doubt the developer cares or spends much time actually using this app themselves.

Kept me and my students safe

A small tornado came through our campus a few years ago and the alert on my phone helped me keep my students sheltered and safe inside instead of walking outside between classes. When I drove through campus later on, the path of the tornado was clearly visible with broken trees and overturned cars. I’m certain someone would have been injured if students were heading towards their cars at that time.

Its GARBAGE now

NOAA Radar us to be the app we used to keep workers safe on site and plan our work and keep families safe. It was simple and accurate. Thanks to lobbyists and politically driven decisions, now we get an absolute garbage app that wont even show us current radar conditions unless you pay fees for what is already PUBLICLY FUNDED system and data. Does a great job of showing radar from an hour ago—thanks, but the stormnado already leveled homes, work sites and took lives. F’n useless. Hope everyone responsible for monetizing this already tax payer funded tool gets sued into oblivion before they see it on their greedy radars.
