Description of One Life Diet

The One Life Diet app will transform the way you track calories. Not only will its unique and innovative system speed up your weight loss, it will also dramatically simplify the process. WHY NOT JUST COUNT CALORIES? To put it bluntly, the old-school belief that “a calorie is a calorie” is simply wrong. The reality is, carbohydrates cause you to gain weight faster than proteins or fats. When you treat all calories as equal, your weight loss is often not going to seem to make any sense – because your expectations are based on incorrect information. And if your diet is based on the belief that all calories are the same, it is going to make losing weight harder and slower than it should be. THE ONE LIFE BLOCK SYSTEM One Life’s Block System for counting calories is completely different from any other calorie counting app available. Using a proprietary system created by Jonathan Haynes, MD, the creator of THE ONE LIFE DIET, the One Life app assigns a Block count to each food based on its ratio of carbohydrates and calories to its protein, fat, and fiber content as well as the food's ability to satisfy hunger and to keep you full. The One Life Diet app allows you to accurately assess the true impact of a food on your weight, which allows you to make choices that will truly create weight loss. And when you can do that, weight loss stops feeling like a mystery and finally starts to make sense. CALORIE COUNTING MADE EASY Calorie counting is so inherently cumbersome, even with a great app it’s still a hassle. Calorie counting requires you to memorize two variables for every food: the serving size + the calorie count for that serving. One Life’s Block System greatly simplifies the process. We’ve categorized every food into one Block serving sizes, which means you only need to remember a single variable for each food – its serving size. Not to mention keeping track of 20 Blocks is a lot easier than trying to keep track of 1200 calories. WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH IT? Quickly and easily search the Block count of your food no matter where you are. Easily compare the Blocks of different foods to help you make better choices. Create and save your own custom foods to quickly access later. Make a personalized “favorites” list for quick and simple journaling. Search for “Free Foods” and “Carb-Free” options. Use the “quick add” feature to add Blocks when you don’t have time for the details. Track your daily exercise and your water intake. Automatically adds up your Blocks as you go. Tracks and automatically graphs your weight loss. Keep notes of your day to provide insight into your weight loss successes and failures. View your journal entries by the day, the week, or by custom dates. Easily print and email your food journal to others. PURPOSEFULLY LIMITED We don’t have the “3,000,000 food database” the other apps boast about. We aren’t trying to be an encyclopedia. What we want to be is a guide for the food you actually eat, and not the 2,999,000 that you don’t.

Reviews of One Life Diet

  • Love this App

This app has kept me on my healthy eating daily goals. I have used it everyday for the last 2 1/2 years. It has contributed to my diet lifestyle changes and kept my weight off. Easy to use and no excuses on why you can’t do this everyday.
  • So glad finally out.

Very easy to use and intuitive. Combined with the book, this makes tracking of my daily progress so much easier. Highly recommend this program in general.
  • Good start but could be better

It would be great if there was a way to enter a custom food only once and then be able to mark that custom food as a favorite and retrieve it when entering a meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner).
