  • Weak defender error?

Dear developer: if two units are on the same square and they are attacked, it seems that the calculation uses the weakest unit to defend, then both units are usually lost. For example, an single archer attacked and defeated a catapult and healthy pikeman in forest. The notification said the catapult lost. There’s no reason the pikeman shouldn’t be used as the defender. Please look in to this possible bug, it seems pretty consistent, but doesn’t seem to effect cities. Also where is information describing trade routes? Thanks.

  • Terrific game But…

It’s a great game and really good idea, but The UI is a bit awkward and there’s not a whole lot of settings with game customization, However I do have hope for the game if the devs just put a bit more work into it, also a suggestion: If y’all can make it so you could not be apart of the game but watch it as a spectator that would be great!

  • Something to ask

Can you change how many human players there can be? I used to play with 100 human players just so I could control all of them and play a different way. Now I can only play with 4, can you change that?

    Developer Response

Thanks for your great feedback. Version 1.9.4 increased the human players number in the hot seat multiple players mode.
  • Finally, a blind friendly civilization

Thank you so much it drives me nuts that civilization doesn’t take the time to make their game blind friendly. Thank you so much for developing this game. I am thoroughly enjoying reliving my childhood
  • It’s just okay

I came to this game hoping for a fun recreation of Civ 2. I will say that the developers did recreate the Civ 2 experience very well - which makes sense because this game is based off FreeCiv.

But, unfortunately, I must leave a negative review. The UI and controls for this game are extremely clunky and basically make it so it’s not fun to play. They need to completely redesign the user interface keeping in mind that people are playing this on their phones. Also, I hate that it forces you to use landscape mode on your screen.

Anyway, all the buttons on the screen are way too small, and often times it’s even difficult to distinguish the UI from the game graphics itself.

Please put some serious effort into overhauling the UI and general user experience. This game has potential, but right now it’s a flop for me.

  • AMAZING!!!

I’ve been playing for over a year now. I keep coming back to it for some much needed time pass, and the game always has updates. The rules and units are rebalance, there are more scenarios!

Not to mention three games in one! Civ style and Galaxies! Not so into the tank game, though maybe I just haven’t given it enough time.

I take my strategy games real seriously, and this is always an intense, long running challenge. Different tech levels present different strategic needs.

And full game play takes days… even a week!

Superior gaming! Thanks for the great work!

  • Great but needs improvement

I really enjoy this game but I have some suggestions to makeit better
    1. Add a vassal/puppet system, like you pay gold every turn to have a puppet, but in turn you get free units for war (if you call for them and the vassal has enough gold) you can build in the puppets cities still though.
    2. The difficulty is too hard, (even for the easiest mode) please try to make it easier.
    3. Make it so augmented editor cities can have wonders without culture

  • Live this game

I really love this game. I have spent countless hours playing this game, though I would like to say I’d like to see more updates towards the galaxy mode, as it is my favorite game mode.
  • Great gameplay, lots of potential

Hi, I thoroughly enjoy this game and applaud the developers for the detail that went into making this. It definitely provides a lot of opportunities to experiment with different play styles. As a suggestion, I think the game would be even better if it had a “vassal” or “puppet” system. Sometimes I wish that I could puppet cities or bring back a civilization that was eliminated without owning the city myself. That way you could have colonies or puppet states that you influence (ex. they may pay you a tribute per turn) but don’t directly control. This would allow the player to control large parts of the map without necessarily owning everything and increasing their nation’s unhappiness. I think this would make the game even more entertaining and I would love to see this implemented in the future if possible.

  • Great but needs fixes

Hi, thank you for this rather faithful recreation of one of my all time favorite games. I’ve played this game (civ 1, 2, 3, 4, mobile version, Xbox 360, and now this) for almost 30 years, I’m not sure when it came out but I basically played it since day 1.

However, even when you set it to “novice” mode - even as an extremely experienced player - it is incredibly difficult to impossible to play. Cities revolt even when I set luxuries to 40% at like 1000BC, no matter the civ and government. Cities revolt literally the turn you build them, then you have to starve them to end the turn, then the city dies basically the same turn you build it. This is just a fail for a game to be like this. It needs to be tested and played from mid-game to end-game.

The tech and city production also seems stunted for many civs I tried. And the old-school-game cheating was a little too reminiscent of the old game. If you could make a civ 3 remake, that would be magical because that is when they really worked out most of the bugs. Thanks again
