New Features: 1. Cards!! - Add your Credit/Debit cards to Rex (just their reference, we do not need your card number, who cares?). By adding all of your cards, you can tag them to your purchases and recurring expenses. Rex will them give you insights into card billing cycle, the billing amount and much more all in one single place. This is designed to help you balance your spending across multiple cards and purchase smartly to avoid billing spikes. 2. Tap the budget arc to change between how much you have spent so far and how much money remains in your budget. More power to you!! 3. All buttons now have haptic feedback. Helps make the entire experience in the app a lot more tactile and relatable to a physical device. 4. Refunds - We found that the early switch for refunds was getting accidentally triggered during expense entry. We have changed the UI to avoid that from happening 5. Yes, this version too has some bug fixes. Recurring expenses were not getting created for the first recurring period in some cases. That is now fixed, among other things.

3.0

December 30, 2020

This version contains a major app refresh based on user feedback: Key highlights: 1. Recurring expenses 2. Expense category breakdown 3. Enter refunds Details: 1. Onboarding for new users will help them declare a spending budget to track 2. View breakdown of your expenditure by expense category for current and previous months 3. New expense categories including a Savings category 4. Recurring expenses - enter once and automate your financial commitments into your monthly budget 5. Enter a refund - for those times when you return a purchased item 6. A refactor of the transactions list to make it look better 7. Misc UI defects PS: Skipping version 2.0. Rather than wait for Apple to approve version 2.0 over the holidays, we thought it better to add more features and bump the version to 3.0. Enjoy!!

Description of Rex

What is Rex? Rex or short for Record your EXpenses, is a personal finance management utility that was created to help anyone manage their budget and track their expenses. Rex is designed to help you spend less, be more financially responsible and develop the value of saving rather than spending. Just don't become a miser because that is not how anyone should live their life! Why Rex? People have multiple credit and debit cards. Although each card will generally provide robust expense tracking capabilities, there are several problems with it. > First of all, credit cards are designed to help you spend more! You can't set a spending budget on a card. > More often than not, people will use one card for fuel, another for groceries and yet another for entertainment, movies etc. This is fine since each credit/debit card offers certain points towards specific purchases. But your expenses are strewn across multiple cards making it difficult to get a holistic picture of your spending habits. > Credit card statement dates also seldom align with your pay period or start of the month, thereby making expense tracking still more difficult.  This is all designed to help you spend more and lose track of your finances!!!!!!! Your expenses are strewn all over the place. Many develop an anxiety towards their final credit card statement. There are several third-party apps that help you link your cards into a singular view. But they have too many features, many steal your data and sell to other providers, the card linking breaks too often. Also its kinda scary to hand over your online banking details to an app. Banks do provide a way to track expenses, but again, they don't play well with other banks, the cards of which you may own! Banks are also well known for how difficult their apps can be to use. Enter Rex. Rex has a super easy interface with quick expense entry. Rex's budget setting helps you get a view of where you are with your spending this month and previous days, weeks and months. And Rex does not need to be linked to any bank or credit/debit card account and it doesn't steal your data. Please read Rex's super simple privacy policy here: https://www.coralworks.ca/privacy.html What features does Rex have? 1. Enter expenses across 15 different categories 2. View all your expenses and their impact on your budget 3. Set your monthly budget and analyse spending over days, weeks and months Negative features - features purposely left out: 1. No linking of cards 2. No linking of bank accounts 3. No selling of data to third parties What's next? Expect a slew of refinements in the coming months. If you have any suggestions of feedback, please leave them in the App Store comments or contact us here: https://www.coralworks.ca/index.html#contact
