Like the concept, disappointed with the app
1) many people with food issues cook fresh ingredients to better control what we eat… so barcodes are irrelevant.
2) I can only choose category of intolerance ingredients rather than specify actual ingredients. So, my dish with vegetables and spices can’t be entered.
And most puzzling is the fact that they display calendar weeks from Thursday to Wednesday. So weird!!!
Does not work
Response from developer
We are sorry that you have had problems using the app. We were aware of a start up issue in the previous version of the app that may have affected some users but thought we had addressed this. We would be very grateful if you could contact us directly at https://todaysnewidea.co.uk/contact/ to discuss the issue you experienced. If we can find out the device and operating system you were using that could help narrow this issue down and let us fix it for all affected. Once again thanks for the feedback.
Nice idea but not quite there yet
This app is nearly there but needs some basic improvements:
You have to constantly use a back arrow when the symbols should just be at the bottom of the page to tap and navigate
The scan function should scan barcodes and bring up food ingredients like myfitnesspal, even when it sort of works it only picks up the odd ingredient
Just not an attractive layout

Thanks for the feedback we are always open to suggestions on how to improve the apps we develop. We used the back arrow for navigation because we wanted to keep a consistent interface across all devices and were trying to minimise the space available for navigation on small devices. Given your feedback though we will revisit this and see if we can streamline things. With respect to the scanning we appreciate that scanning ingredients can be problematic particularly given how small and difficult to read some of the ingredient labels can be. You mention that it only seems to recognise some ingredients even if it dies work. This is by design as we limit the ingredients recognised to only those that we have associated an intolerance with. If you think there are some that we have missed please contact us via the link below and we will add them into the next release. We did test scanning bar codes to look up the ingredients in a third party database but while scanning the barcode was reasonably simple the information returned from the third party database was highly variable in quality. Again given you have taken the time to highlight this we will revisit that side of things prior to the next release. You can contact us directly at https://todaysnewidea.co.uk/contact/
