Tinnitus Masker Relief Sounds User Reviews

Relief!

It took me only a few minutes to find the sound that completely masks the low hum in my left ear. The sound is barely audible to me but masks completely. Wow.

Response from developer

That's great to know. I hope it continues to be a helpful relief from tinnitus! All the best.

Great

Frequency is so specific, should be able to save

I like the concept. I’m suffering from constant ringing in my right ear. This app is great at matching the frequency of that ringing. I had to come back to the App Store for instructions because the app itself is not very intuitive. Also, once I found my frequency, it seems silly that there’s no way to save it. Especially after getting the paid version. I’d much prefer that feature than being able to listen to other things and this at the same time. Seems like a “save” feature would have been first on dev’s list…

Hi there - I just wanted to thank you for your feedback and to let you know that the save function is now available. All the best!

Amazing app

Worked to mask my extremely aggravating tinnitus which sounds like two low alternating tones. I mixed the "tone" with the rain and the ocean and finally I could sleep or concentrate on work. Love the way you can control the frequency of the sounds until tinnitus "disappears". Also wonderful is the way it stays on while on other apps for example I could listen to my audiobooks again with the masking tone in the background.

Great app for tinnitus sufferers

Really pleased a found this little app, you can play the masking sound whilst playing your music which is great.. easy set up and will definitely pay the £4.49 when my trial is over..

Great app, with suggestion for improvement

Great app. However, after using it quite a bit, I do not understand the concept of finding your ringing frequency then drowning it out with ambient sounds. For me, I either drown it out completely with rain or something (which means I don’t hear my own internal ringing) or I still hear the app’s matched frequency coming through quietly (which is just as annoying as my own ringing).

However, for me, the true magic is having the app match my own ringing frequency and just listening to that for 10-20 seconds. When that stops, my internal ringing magically stops too! It’s like an oasis in the desert! But this quiet relief only seems to last for 10-20 seconds itself, then my own ringing fades back in.

So…. My request is for this app to have an on and off timer. I’d like to be able to have my frequency turn itself on and off in 10-20 second intervals. There is another app that already does this. However, this app is far superior to that one in its sounds. I can get a much better match on my own ringing frequency with this app. So an on and off timer would make this app ideal.

It’s useful

It’s an OK app. Tinnitus usually happens at certain frequencies that are specific to the individual. Once you get the frequency dialed in, it would be nice if they had a scale showing the frequency so you could go back to it time after time without having to try to dial it back in again. Also, I get relief by sliding the volume up and down in pulsing movements from about mid volume to zero. It would be nice if they added a pulsing/sweeping feature. That way you could set that pulsing action while you meditate.

Perfect!

I have been battling high frequency Tinnitus for 2 years now. This app is exactly what I was looking for to provide relief. If setup properly, the Tinnitus sound in your head “disappears” temporarily because the tone from the app masks over it. After you match your Tinnitus pitch in the app, the trick is to turn 2 ambient sounds in the app to a higher volume than the Tinnitus sound in the app, and voila, magic.

This is my first day using it, and it was an automatic purchase regardless if I needed premium or not. The author deserved it.

Future feature request: The ability to save presets. That way the user could change ambient sound setups at the touch of a button, instead of trying to remember a good combo they enjoyed.

Thanks!!

Lovely! - Thanks for your feedback. That feature is coming soon (along with some other improvements). Glad I could help!

Best white noise app

Tried nearly every white noise and sound app and this one is the easiest to use and most functional.
One thing I really like is that it continues to play in the background even if you're watching videos on YouTube or surfing the web. And, as a bonus, it is one of the few apps that doesn't require you to accept dozens of permissions and doesn't collect any of your info.
Didn't need the full version, but bought it anyway to thank the developers.

Thankyou very much. Really appreciate the support. I really just started out developing a Tinnitus relief app for my own personal use. I also wanted the app to be free of annoying notifications and adverts - and you're correct, I'm collecting zero personal details. I don't want/need them. It's great to see it helping so many other people.

Excellent

This has been really effective at helping to mitigate the torture of tinnitus.
The developer is very responsive to feedback, and obviously keen to perfect what is already a quite useful app!
